WR-Regional (Draft Bracket)

There are four areas of need for the FINS: NT, FS, WR, and OLB.

The FINS can address those needs respectively by using a first round pick on that particular player. Sometimes the player you want is selected by the teams before you so you go to the next player on your board at that position or you look at a totally different position.

I'd like to explore the possible draft scenarios in a March Madness Bracket style enumeration of the possibilities.

We have four regionals called the NT regional (nose tackle picked in the first round), the WR regional (WR chosen in first round), the FS regional (FS chosen in the first round), and the OLB regional (OLB chosen in the first round).

I will assume that once a WR is picked in the first round, then the remaining 3 picks will be used to address the other areas of need. That means 6 possible ways to fill the remaining FS, NT, and OLB.

Please vote on which combination of players is the best draft while addressing the four areas of need. The draft sequence of players that receives the most votes will WIN the regional and advance to the final four for the vote.

I will do this for the permutations of the FS regional and the OLB regional. The four winners will go head to head in the FINAL FOUR.

Link to the NT-regional (in case you missed it).

It is just a fun way to look at possible draft scenarios (For example, looking for an OLB in the second round, but Jerry Hughes goes off the board...what do you do? Is it worth it to take Ricky Sapp or go a different direction?)

Golden Tate WR - Cam Thomas NT - Koa Miisi OLB - Kurt Coleman FS

If we take Golden Tate in round 1

I’m not watching the rest of the draft. That’s 40 picks too high for Tate.

suppose we trade the first pick for an early 2nd rounder and a first rounder next year...

and then take Golden Tate…would that change your mind?

ehhh

I don’t want Tate, he just doesn’t project as a #1 IMO, and I think it’s a waste of a pick to take another secondary WR, when we have 4 at the moment.

2nd option

Getting Cody in the second would be a steal and you get Dez in the First. I think Burnett could be an excellent ball hawk and thats what we eed

Only 2 receivers worth a shot for Phins.

Dez Bryant and DeMaryius Thomas are going to be the only 2 receivers that will turn into true #1 receivers. Speed, size, agility are solid with these 2. In my mind, if we draft anyone else, we will still be in the same position as today in that we have a team full of #2 and slot receivers.

DeMaryius Thomas

I’d have to go with Thomas over Bryant, I just think there’s too much hype over the guy…. I’m not familiar with his medical condition, but I see it catching up to him over a few years and like most Phinfans have mentioned, A one or two year WR fix isn’t worth it. So, Thomas would have to be the guy.

Andre Who?

Haven’t heard that name on the radar. What’s the stats on this guy?

Gotcha

good sleeper nod…. “little small at barely 180 pounds soaking wet, but don’t let that light-weight fool you, he is solid muscle, tough, strong, athletically gifted and has great hands.”—— Draftdog.com….. He’d be another number two though…..
