Free Agency Update: Richie Incognito to remain in Miami overnight
After visiting the Bengals yesterday, free agent offensive lineman Richie Incognito flew down to Miami last night to have dinner with Tony Sparano and OL coach Dave DeGuglielmo. He then spent the day Tuesday visiting with the Dolphins, meeting with team officials and undergoing a physical.
So where is he now? Via Jeff Darlington's twitter page, here's the latest:
G Richie Incognito will stay overnight in South Florida as his agent takes over situation. Dolphins like him. It's now a matter of how much.
I'm told Incognito's visit has gone well so far. Team is concerned about past -- but not too concerned to resist signing him for right coin.
Armando Salguero adds the following:
Source says Dolphins this evening offered a contract to Richie Incognito camp but obviously it didn't blow anyone away. Talks continue.
This will likely come down to the kind of money Incognito's agent is looking for. But if the price is right, and Incognito doesn't go crazy tonight somewhere in South Beach and start head-butting patrons at a club, there's a good chance Richie becomes the latest Dolphin free agent acquisition.

That coin really is the biggest part about this
Incognito can’t expect he’ll get a handsome salary, and his agent could bid him out of a reasonable offer.
I personally would like to see him here. Dude’s strong, dude’s mean, and we need OL depth/RG competition. That’s something I’d rather see filled with a veteran presence who has the ability to play the position when sane.
Just be reasonable with the pricetag, Richard..

I think our line is solid and can keep him as a part of a unit...
Plus Sparano understands the guy since he’s worked with Linemen a lot. Also, our line is the highest paid and I’m sure he wants a piece of that. I sure hope his agent is willing to add incentives to the contract based on performance and lack of penalties by his client for higher pay. Both sides could agree with performance and keeping the personal fouls to a minimum.

Plus we’re taking a potential draft need off the board if we sign him, and that’s always nice.
Dan Williams or Earl Thomas in 2010!
Then give me Jerry Hughes or Ricky Sapp in round two, please

That's what I'm thinking
It would allow them to maybe gamble on a (2nd?) receiver and we need all the help there we can get.
Kinda takes away the "need" for Iupati....

i'd imagine he'd battle it out with Donald Thomas and Nate Garner for the starting spot
at worst, he provides some very good depth if he keeps his head on right

Not with smiley, I know Thomas has gotten injured a lot but
always thought he was our best interior lineman.

Keep the guaranteed money low and sign him
He would definetly start at RG and maybe just maybe light a fire under Careys dispassionate butt and make him the monster I think he could be but isn’t.

ESPN just said Miami signed Incognito to a 1 year deal.
it did give the details
incognito signed
The Dolphins have reached a deal with guard Richie Incognito to make the lineman just the second new addition to the roster since the start of free agency. The sides have agreed to terms, and the contract is currently being finalized, two sources said Wednesday morning.

Which is kind of scary because they tend to get injured a lot.
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.

My gosh, it has been a while
since a man’s namesake (Incognito) was so ill-suited at describing his character/temper!
I think I read that he had around 10-11 penalties for over 100 yards last year while playing for buffalo. That’s almost 20% of what the entire dolphins team racked up!
I tend to think the dolphins staff has wanted discipline and decent/high character guys if nothing else. That makes this signing a bit odd despite the obvious fact the dolphins need help in the interior OL.
Low risk high reward signing. If he cant control himself they just dump him and move on.
