parcells doesnt draft safeties in the first round
I like Spiller at that spot
Actually
Parcells drafted S Roy Williams in the first round in 2002 (albeit he’s not that good). On the other hand, Parcells has never drafted a RB in the first round to my knowledge.
That's right.
I was being too harsh. I just tend to think he’s overrated. Any most people agree that he has poor coverage skills.
His thing was the horsecollar. When they made a rule against it
he faded into mediocrity
Parcells had never drafted a CB in the first either prior to last year

I was impressed with this kid at Texas, and if Berry isn’t there (very likely) we definitely need to draft Thomas.

Hakeem Nicks
he got special attention from us to smoke screen our target of CB…

If Nolan thinks we can start a rookie FS with success, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, I really REALLY hate to see us endup with both a weak pass and run defense... So otherwise get the NT!
Nah, the media just makes it look that way
They meet with lots of prospects every year before the draft and probably show many of them a good amount of attention
Multiple reports said..
that if Minnesota didn’t take Percy Harvin, that we were going to…never know what the trifecta is thinking…
Alot of people expected Minnesota to pass on him too

Just because someone hasn't done something, doesnt mean they wont do it
There are X amount of positions in the NFL, X amounts of Drafts that one selects for, and X amount of First Rounds picks in a career.

Eh
There are gonna be a lot of visits, this hardly means anything except he could be a possible pick. Personally I’m not sold on him, but what do I know?

Draft
I’m ok with Earl at #12, i’d be ok with an OLB also. I’m tired of hearing people want CJ Spiller at the 12 spot. For what, so we can get rid of him in 4yrs and draft another RB in that draft? Ronnie needs to be signed to a fair offer sheet. He’s what 28? Hs a low amount of carries do to sharing the ball his whole career, even in college. His body is not worn out and he has a good 4 more yrs in him. Does he get hurt alot? Yea, but draft a solid RB late in draft for a good low price and who knows maybe we hit gold. RB’s are a dime a dozen.
His body is worn out due to several season ending injuries.
Serious injuries really take their tolls on a RB. Re-signing Ronnie, a RB that has never finished a season healthy, is a bigger risk than taking a RB in the first round.

i hav to disagree with that, ronnie is a proven player that we know can lead this team, and who has very few snaps under his bels (compared to others of his age)
so he would actually have less wear and tear than u might think
besides, taking a RB in the draft is takin someone who is completely unadapted to the system, and you cant afford that on a running team

Lead this team?
From where? The IR, where he has been half the season 2 of the past 3 yrs?

The only thing Ronnie has proven,
is that he can’t stay on the field. If you place all your hopes on a player than never makes it through December, how on earth do you expect to win in January?

Ronnie’s a great professional on/off the field and that can’t be overlooked. He’s a solid pass catching back and good facilitator of the wildcat, but a game breaker he is not. One thousand yd season in 5 yrs is not elite material. Being “on pace for…” means nothing. It’s like all those idiot sportscenter anchors talking about home run record setting pace in june. Gotta finish. He was the better choice btwn C. Williams though so im not knocking his selection. I just don’t think he’ll pay off especially for another 4 yrs. In general, RBs are dime a dozen yes, APs and CJs are not. If we get a chance at a rare playmaker like Spiller I say take him. He may not be a WR but having a big play threat in one aspect of the offense will help the other.
I hope for Spiller in the 1st, OLB/S in the 2nd/3rd, and then a WR/DT in later rounds. Parcells found Ferg and Ratliff in the 7th so we know he can find diamonds in the rough deep in the draft.
