Possible Draft Scenarios (March Madness Style)
There are four areas of need for the FINS: NT, FS, WR, and OLB.
The FINS can address those needs respectively by using a first round pick on that particular player. Sometimes the player you want is selected by the teams before you so you go to the next player on your board.
I'd like to explore the possible draft scenarios in a March Madness Bracket style enumeration of the possibilities.
We have four regionals called the NT regional (nose tackle picked in the first round), the WR regional (WR chosen in first round), the FS regional (FS chosen in the first round), and the OLB regional (OLB chosen in the first round).
I will assume that once a NT is picked in the first round, then the remaining 3 picks will be used to address the other areas of need. That means 6 possible ways to fill the remaining FS, WR, and OLB.
Please vote on which combination of players is the best draft while addressing the four areas of need. The draft sequence of players that receives the most votes will WIN the regional and advance to the final four for the vote.
I will do this in the future for the permutations of the FS regional, WR regional, and the OLB regional. The four winners will go head to head in the final four.
It is just a fun way to look at possible draft scenarios (For example, looking for an OLB in the second round, but Jerry Hughes goes off the board...what do you do? Is it worth it to take Ricky Sapp or go a different direction?)

I would like to see Cody as the NT we pick at 12 ...
but I am sure everyone knows that by now …

This allows for that...if Dan Williams is taken, you would go to the next NT on your board (in your case Cody first)
I am curious about which one you voted for
Although it might be worth the risk to draft somebody else with the #12 pick and hope Cody slides to the second round…
1st: Earl Thomas S; 2nd: Lamarr Houston NT/DE; 3rd: Linval Joseph NT; 4th: Adrian Tracy OLB; 6A: Stevenson Sylvester ILB; 6B: Deji Karim RB; 6C: Jameson Konz TE; 7A: Scott Long WR;

There is no way he would make it past the Chargers and the Bills in the second....
I think everyone already knows he is overweight … So is Vince Wilfork, but no one is complaining about him being 370lbs…. He is a 2 down NT, but so are most if not all pure NTs in this league. If you can shut down the run, it lets you tee off on the QB with your OLBs causing the QB to make bad decisions and make bad throws to your secondary. Considering we have 2 lock-down corners, and a young prospect with all the tools, that is exactly what we want. If we wanted to pick up a Darren Sharper to show Chris Clemons how to live up to his potential that would be great.

thanks for your comment
technically, they should ALL meet the needs, but some do it with greater impact players at certain positions
the question is, which allocation of playmakers is the best value and at which positions is the draft the deepest where teams may not be in urgent need…
1st: Earl Thomas S; 2nd: Lamarr Houston NT/DE; 3rd: Linval Joseph NT; 4th: Adrian Tracy OLB; 6A: Deji Karim RB; 6B: Jameson Konz TE; 6C: Stevenson Sylvester ILB; 7A: Scott Long WR; 7B: Chris Chancellor CB;

I really don't know much about Burnett but I like
Hughes and Cooper. I wouldn’t take Cooper though unless we get a 5th or he falls to the 6th
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.
And, as always, screw the JETS!!!!!!!!
Would you still go WR in the fourth round (or TE Jimmy Graham instead)?
I could see the Triad trading back into the fourth round to pick up a 5th rounder, in which case the fourth pick would be used to eventually acquire a WR (maybe Cooper).
Say trade to the back of the fourth round and pick up a late fifth, take Jimmy Graham AND Riley Cooper, a hurricane and a gator.

I don't know how good it would do trading back in the fourth.
because I don’t think we could get a fifth, but i would do it in a heart beat.
Cooper is a real project but could be a better pro than Miles, yes I’m talking about Austin Miles. The problem is he never was dominate. He usually ran shorter routes in Floridas offense. But he got open deep almost every time he did go deep. He also has many clutch 3rd down catches when the game was on the line. (last minute psh to win the game, always seemed to get open when it was all on the line.)
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.
And, as always, screw the JETS!!!!!!!!
I don't think any WR will be there that has any value.
Unless someone falls. Briscoe was supposed to be a 3rd or 4th before the combine, then ran a 4.5 40 so he fell. But he still would be a good late round pick up
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.

I think it is Miles Austin
but even some Cowboy fans got it mixed up (or at least used to)

Draft
There is absolutely no way Williams will be our first pick. There will simply be much better players available at 12 that we can’t ignore. We can get a good NT later on, perhaps even two.

I'm not sure that it is that obvious...
definitely worth discussing
How would you know unless you looked at how the draft would play out in several scenarios…
Linval Joseph has good measurables, but he is really raw and may be good someday, but we need a decent NT right now, not later…
