Tomlinson to Jets. Panic? Not at all
According to the Union Tribune, Tomlinson is headed to the Jets. While most of you will agree that LT is past his prime, some of you may be worried the Jets just became a stronger threat. I'm here to tell you that the Jets backfield will be worse then last season. I live in San Diego and watched Tomlinson be adored by my friends for many years. After his record breaking TD year he started to become a non factor for the Chargers, and clearly he is worn down. While he may be a decent goal line or short yard back, the only reason I feel the Jets picked him up is for mentoring Greene. Unless the Jets start to become a pass happy offense like the Chargers did, they are in trouble unless Greene can handle the load and be a premier back.

Whoops.
I’m not exactly sure how serious an impact RBs have on “mentoring” each other. It’s all about instincts, fundamentals, and athleticism as a running back. There’s little to do in the mental aspect aside from blocking.
Nonetheless, I dislike seeing this happen. He may be worn down but he is still talented and a threat that I’d rather not see on their team. It’s not like this scares me, persay, but I don’t particularly enjoy the thought of it.

but
he has a 1972 honda with gas..hes not gonna be a impact,,
thomas jones is a scarier back in the back field..
so i honestly think..
NO PLAYOFFS FOR THEM
the gr8 1
are u thinking that they may hold onto the ball 2-3 minuts longer a half. But isthat the way a team
with a great defense does it! “ya i’m sure of it”

Recieving out of the backfield is the other thing.
It is really underrated in a RB but can change a coache’s approach to a game. Just watch the final minutes to the Pats-Colts game and pay attention to the Pats decision to pass it to their RB on 4th and short.
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.
And, as always, screw the JETS!!!!!!!!
not so fast with lt to ny. he has lost a step. if he goes to new york he will want to start but shonn greene showed he was ready for big time
Well that's why this move is ideal for LT
Jets want Shonn Greene as their RB of the future, and LT knows that Greene is that guy. By bringing in LT, you allow Greene to learn the system and develop his skills without taking a heavy beating in just his second year. Limit his carries, limit the hurt. Smart move by the Jets.

Ding,Ding,Ding. You are a Winner. I was waiting for someone to say Jets O-Line.
Isn’t Thomas Jones like 33 yrs old. He rushed for how many yards. 1400 yards. An we shouldn’t be worried about LT? Nice call Davone Is BessT.

I seriously think the chiefs have a nice looking backfield. Too bad there QB sucks.

I'm not even slightly worried about it
Put it this way. LT is now just an average back, and if we can’t stop him, we won’t be able to stop anyone, so at that point LT will be the least of our worries next season. But if we get anything resembling run defense next year we should be fine with LT. He won’t be the best rb on the Jets.

Nicky's right
I don’t know if there’s a team LT has struggled against more than the Dolphins. The Jets O-line is beastly, but we’re slinging a Mike Nolan-coordinated D now, so I’ll gladly take my chances.

There is a Difference between SD and The Jets.
The Jets have at least three Pro Bowl offensive Linemen. San Diego maybe one. San Diego is a passing team. Pass blocking is different than run blocking.
Who cares how many Pro Bowlers they had and at what position...
Correct me if i am wrong, but didn’t we beat them twice last year, and with better Rb’s than they have right now? This is just a ploy to bring in another big name to sell PSL’s at their new stadium, and to sell Jerseys.
Non- story, non-factor, he will be this coming season. We will all watch his ass sulking on the bench when we beat them to win the division next year, and they miss the playoffs because of us. He is all about the money, and he hasn’t played the game with his heart for the last 3 years. Let him go there, and backup a 22 year old RB for two years. Maybe while he is sitting on the bench, he can ponder just what the Hell happened to his career.
That’s the player i would love to have on my team…LOL. Philip Rivers’ leg was hanging literally by a thread in the playof loss to New England, and LT had a stomach bug, and could get his warm jacket off to run the ball….What a joke!
Of course Tom Brady has to marry someone with Giz in her name. How fitting???

Good Call
I think adding LT just gave the Jets one more player that will be a vocal thorn in their side once Sancheesy hits a rough patch. If he doesn’t get the carries, he’ll complain. Add that to Cro, Braylon Edwards, and Marshall if they get him. I love the moves they’re making!
Thomas Jones is way more productive than LT at this point in either's career

I do, but I don't
a 2nd rounder for him would be awesome, but that means we have to give said 2nd rounder to the Jets, and we’re not at the point where we can use a 2nd round pick on a complimentary back. If we had a solid FS on the team, and Ferguson wasn’t suspended, then maybe. But with the current circumstances, no
a) LT will dominate with the Jets
b) Rex Ryan, even after surgery, is still fat… er, HUGE
c) Dolphins will still beat the Jets.
You tell me what is false

don't forget the chargers OLINE has been pitifully weak
and the jet’s have one of if not the premier Oline in NFL.
LT will have a great time playing in NY, I’m both certain and fearful of this :(
Dan Williams 12th Overall Bandwagon: As the NFL slowly converts to a 3-4 defense, we need to consider the true value of the 3-4 NT. There are about as many stud 3-4 NT's as there are stud QB's in the NFL currently. Problem is, until this coming season, less than half of the NFL ran a 3-4... So as more teams adopt the 3-4, there will be an ever increasing void of available NT beasts, and of course a rising premium (cost) for them. Taking a franchise NT makes complete sense to me.
