dolphins going incognito?
there are reports on espn that the dolphins are bringing richie incognito in for a visit this week. the report said that miami tried to claim him off of waivers last year but buffalo had priority. if you've ever seen this guy...you know how big he is and how tatted up he is. he playes mean and nasty and i think he would excell next jake grove. miami's offensive line dominated at times last year, but not all the time. incognito is a premiere guard in the nfl, who like many others has some baggage and the personality of a rattlesnake. but hey we dont have to love the guy or even like him for that matter, but as long as he is smashing defenders in the mouth, i think ya gotta sign him. what do you guys think?

If they can keep his head on straight. This guy is nasty. Just the type of fire we could use.

Nasty is one thing
but being voted one of the dirtiest players in the league
And if I recall he headbutted someone and got tossed from a game last year, (on top of issues with the FO) is why he got cut.
AWAY WITH YOU INNCOGNITO
It's not like the guy is getting arrested or being a negative towards society
This is from wikipedia
“Controversy
On November 4, 2009, Sports Illustrated polled 296 NFL players and found Incognito to be the seventh dirtiest player in the NFL behind players such as Hines Ward, Albert Haynesworth, and Joey Porter,11 a distinction stemming from multiple on the field incidents over the years that have resulted in numerous personal fouls and fines. In one such game on Oct. 12, 2008, against the Washington Redskins, Richie was fined $35,000 for three separate in-game incidents that included a personal foul for "repeated verbal abuse of a game official", a major facemask penalty, and an illegal chop block.12 In addition to the Sports Illustrated poll, Incognito was voted the NFL’s dirtiest player in a Sporting News poll of 99 players.13
The December 13, 2009, game was the fourth in three years in which Incognito drew two personal foul penalties in a game, and the second since Steve Spagnuolo became head coach; in the 2009 opener, Incognito was benched by his coach after his second 15-yard penalty, which negated gains by the Rams’ offense.1415 These continued transgressions led to his release by the Rams on December 15, 2009. After being released, Incognito was fined $50,000 for the headbutt to the two Tennessee Titans players. A total of five players were fined from that game."
To me that seems like someone that needs to be tamed or at least taught the time and place for such intensity.
PFT is crying about Parcells plan to avoid thugs but I think he was more concerned about guys that would act like that off the field.
I’m sure if Brandon Marshall had Incognito type problems that most of us would feel differently about him. I suppose you could compare Incognito’s issues with T.O.s problems over the years. Never had problems off the field but tended to make the game about him on Sunday. Putting your emotions and feeling over the team on game day is learned habit that can be broken.
Driving drunk, beating up women, doing drugs and surrounding yourself with the wrong people off the field is the definition of what Parcells is avoiding. I tend to think that if the price is right he’ll take a chance on a guy like Incognito any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
In my opinion.Incognito can at least learn to swim while guys like Marshall are destined to sink.
Go get Suh if at all possible.

Except that we dont have an explosive offense, and the last thing we need
is a guy who has a tendency to pick up big penalties
where would he put him though, is he a guard?

Absolutely not.
I don’t even want Incognito to be looked at by this team. The guy is a grade A douchenozzel and I want nothing to do with him. As was mentioned above, he got benched because he got personal foul penalties for headbutting guy, then when he got to play again, he immediately got another penalty for the same thing. He may be a good blocker, but he is more known for committing stupid penalties that costs his team big time. He was probably the least liked guy on the team by the fans here because of his antics, and almost everyone was happy to see him go.
I remember a couple of seasons ago that the Rams had 2 games that they could have won that Incognito cost them. Both times they were down by a TD and in the red zone and they threw a TD pass that got negated because of Incognito got a personal foul penalty. They didn’t get a TD on the next try, and had to settle for a field goal. The same thing also happened in one of the 2 games they did win that year, except they still managed to get a TD. But the point is that he cost them at least 2 games and almost a couple of others.

I beleive you coach a player out of being a cheap shot artist, but being born with a whole lotta nasty, well…………that’s just plain special in my book.

I agree. Bring Him In.
He’s is what you want in an O-Linemen. By The way you can’t coach nasty or mean. You either got it or you don’t. I played in the trenches for to many years and I wasn’t the biggest, but, I was the meanest. As long as this kid can gel with Carey or long which ever side he plays on I’m all for it.
this guy

Did I miss something?
I have a good buddy who is a Rams fan, so I have ended up watching a few of their games over the years. To be honest, I always kind of thought he was a pretty lousy player, not even considering all the penalties. Maybe my eyes deceived me?

Defenitely need another SOLID starter and if we can get him
that will be one less position that has to be addressed in the draft because we’re clearly not where we need to be on the OL yet.
