Dolphins better do this!

Even though the Dolphins placed a first round tender on Ronnie Brown and lost a million dollars, they better not trade him. Without him, there would be no wildcat and I believe that he is one of the best backs we have in the game. Besides Henne, he is also the face of this franchise. Now, if they were to trade him, we would be left with Ricky Williams, who he said will retire after next season, and Lex Hilliard. I don't mind having Ricky as our starter but him and Brown together would be one of best RB tandems in the NFL. You all know that the best tandem is Williams-Stewart of the panthers.

Next, they better sign S Darren Sharper to a 1-2 year deal. That would fill our safety hole. And, there would be less draft needs  we need other than receiver. Then, we go draft Dez Bryant.

Bill Parcells and the organization, don't trade Ronnie Brown

AGREE

Sign Sharper, mentor our young cb’s and safeties
1st round dez, will be a playmaker
2nd round cam thomas
and after that what ever is best available for our FINS!

Good Point

Sounds like a solid plan… There’s a lot of depth in the Linebacker slot with this draft so I’m sure we can get a good pick in the later rounds in addition to Dez and Cam….. Holy crap! If all this falls in to place we may just have a solid team this year with our big signing of Dansby. Not to mention our Corners are coming in to their second year.

by Rickslilpiece on Mar 13, 2010 12:11 PM EST up reply actions

Sharper or Atogwe.....

I totally agree with you that we should pick up Darren, dude isn’t afraid to stick it to anyone. There were a few hits last year that I thought he might even face fines for but I never found anything saying he got slapped with any. If we don’t pick him up I think Atogwe could be a good addition. He’s got a lot of upside. Not really sure what our front office would do if the number 12 pick comes along and Dez is still on the board. Still have a feeling they may go D regardless.

by phinzfan84 on Mar 12, 2010 7:48 PM EST reply actions

If we didn't sniff at Sharper last year then what makes you think things have changed?

Good for Sharper last year but that more lightning in a bottle as opposed to what to expect from him in 2010.

Have patience and confidence, the FO will do the best job possible.

Go get Suh if at all possible.

atogwe would be real sweet but i have a pretty strong feeling about sharper.......

get dez bryant completely out of your mind…….first year was the year of the lineman, last year was the year of the defensive back, this year is the year of the linebacker and next year will be the year of the wide receiver………. i’m right………..just ask me

No reason to keep Ronnie (if a good deal should come along), just because he operates one of many offensive formations we use

True, Ricky is gone after this season, but who knows if Ronnie is gone after week 5. I love the guy, he’s fun to watch, he’s a beast in Madden, but if a chance to deal him should arise and it’s the right fit, i don’t see why not. He’s got a couple years left in the tank, but we have the option of [most likely] grabbing Spiller @ 12, and he’s got Rookie of the Year written all over him. And yes, Ronnie & Ricky do make a spectacular duo, when they’re healthy the R&R Express has no breaks. Unfortunately, i don’t see 16 + weeks of R&R Express…

Signing Sharper would be a mistake, IMO. Sharper looked good last season, but I’d play my ass of if Drew Brees was my QB and i could see Vilma 20 feet away. There are options in the draft & we have Clemons who we have yet to see. And I say “ew” to Dez. Never was super into him, but next year is going to be rich with NFL caliber receivers. Here’s a preview of our 1st round pick in 2011 (yeah, he’s comin out early):

^ This....except, he's too slow in Madden, and fumbles a lot.

If this post contains no substance, just assume that my answer is Brandon Marshall. Pay the 1st and 3rd, get the proven guy, and don't worry about that position for the next decade.

shouldn’t we talk all hope for the best? With that said I am crankin’ up the Julio Jones bandwgon early! :)

No Offense, but there is more than 1 RB that learn to pass the ball....

Ronnie may great in our Wildcat, but he’s a replaceable piece. Remember, he had never thrown a pass before starting to practice the Wildcat. Give another RB as much practice in that formation, and you will end up with the same result…. its a running formation. Ricky’s 79 year old butt did just fine…. and his practice time in the lead spot was limited to 1-2 practices between games.

Trade Ronnie if we can get a 2nd…. Don’t draft Dez Bryant, draft Spiller….

If this post contains no substance, just assume that my answer is Brandon Marshall. Pay the 1st and 3rd, get the proven guy, and don't worry about that position for the next decade.

NO

If we trade Ronnie it should be for a first rounder period. As for the draft Earl Thomas or Mt. Cody.

i wouldn't mind getting Javon walker too....

I think he’s still got plenty of juice left cause he hasn’t played much in a few years and if he is 100% healthy, i say bring him in and see what he’s got

by scbrandon on Mar 12, 2010 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

NO!

Walker isn’t a #1 WR. The only reason he even put up those good seasons was because of Farve. We’d be better off with T.O., at least teams still fear him.

by inishe8 on Mar 13, 2010 4:34 AM EST up reply actions

Ronnie is great, I agree

but he isn’t indispensable. If we got a good offer for him I would do it. We can’t rely on the Wildcat to help out our offense. What we need to do is become solid and consistent on offense first, then we can use the Wildcat to its fullest potential. Right now, teams are expecting the Wildcat as it’s become synonymous with our offense.

What I would like to see is for us to sign Atogwe from the Rams to fill our need at FS, then to draft Spiller in the 1st to help out our RBs and keep that position from becoming a gaping hole next year. Dez is going to be a big bust, I can feel it. We can also sign Sharper as a stopgap at safety, but I would feel better about the position if Atogwe is there, as he can be there longer.

Keep ronnie but more wildcat!!!

Wild cat hurt more then help last year. How many times last year henne goes 6/6 40 yards then in comes wild cat oh joy 3-15 now and we end up punting. and like i always say DEZ = BUST

Every team in the league has a wildcat package now

why do people still think Ronnie is the only one that can run it? Put ANY RB or return man back there (like Cleveland with Cribbs) and it can work.

yup

it’s usually that, or “he’s elite when healthy” which is wrong twice lol. I love Ronnie, but when can we all look at a player, and just universally agree that he’s not a top 5 back, and that he has a long injury history? How are either of those up for debate?
