Derek and Dez

Like father like son. In my canadian die hard miami dolphins fan opinion i feel like signing Derek Mason to a small deal for a few seasons could be the defining moment of our off season, now let me explain. Karlos Dansby is HUGE for our defense, but our offense still needs a major adjustment. IF Dez Bryant is available with the 12 pick (he should be there as the latest buzz around the league is that Dez might slip past pick 15) I hope that the front office would highly consider making this selection. It is no surprise that Dez is, and will be the playmaker that we need in our offense, and this move could drastically change our success in the league. He has all the intagibles to make the clutch and big time catches we need, a la LArry Fitzgerald? I mean making the comparsion to Larry is one thing, and making it actually happen on the gridiron is something totally different, but his kids videos give me chills. He makes all the big catches, and doesnt shy away for gettting hit. I am really exciting to hear how he runs and preforms at his Pro day, and we all now there will be a phins scout there. The red flag that surrounds him are the characters issues. Sure this is very important, but the right guidance when they get into the league is so KEY! Now where the veteran ties in, Derek Mason could be the mentor that Dez never had throughout life. He had such a tough upbringing, maybe he just needs the father figure? He also could be a huge asset to our young receiving core, providing leadership and guidance. He also could show Dez the ropes, so he gets comfortable with his role as the teams number 1. He still even has some gas in the tank to make some clutch catches for Chad. A playmaker is so important in the league now, and i dont need to tell everyone that because we all know, everyone also knows that WE need that playermaker. If we give his kid a chance, with the right leadership he will be a pro bowler, and hopefully in the teal and orange..what do you think?
