Bryant is a Slacker
With all the hoopla surrounding the wide receiver position, I thought this was an interesting tidbit. I am not a fan of drafting receivers in the top 20 picks of the first round. I would place this position as the most volatile in terms of make or fail in the NFL.
Given the “attitude” of this particular receiver, I’m reminded of an earlier fan post about what Patrick Turner thought the NFL would be. I quote, “The NFL,” Turner told him, “it’s fun, but it’s all work”. Sounds like this third rounder hasn’t realized responsibility yet, and then we have this report come out on the ballyhooed Dez Bryant.
From Yahoo Sports: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-bryantrisk022810&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
“I wouldn’t draft that kid unless I had someone to wake him up in the morning to get to meetings, someone to wake him up for practice and someone to wake him up for games,” one source said.
“We’re not just talking about being a little late for warmups, but like being late for the actual game,” a source said with a chuckle. “When you start to hear some of the stories of there, you go, ‘He did what?’ ”
But I have a feeling he’ll be picked up by the Broncos at the very latest (earliest?) and he’ll be a perfect replacement for Brandon Marshall. Good luck with that Denver….

Skipped right over ur comment...
… but I see great minds think alike…
I surely didn’t mean to step on your stuff here. It’s just that all this talk of the Dolphins getting a number one receiver/target/go-to guy at the twelfth pick is just about a fledgling crap as I’ve seen.
Maybe in the later rounds. Maybe through free agency. But the Dolphins are better than picking a make or break position, especially in this guy.
I’ll keep the post here for a while, see what pops in. If nothing, or it’s bothersome, I’ll delete it….

Dude, no worries!
I was just saying that I noticed the same thing and thought it was VERY relevant to the idea of drafting him in the first round.

And I was concerned he was too lazy to learn English in my post lol
Apparently he is too lazy to do a lot of things…..
Go figure.
If this post contains no substance, just assume that my answer is Brandon Marshall. Pay the 1st and 3rd, get the proven guy, and don't worry about that position for the next decade.
since when is Left a 'great mind'? ;-)
He really does look like a taylor made replacement for Marshall, complete with megalomaniac personality even.
I know I’m harping on this, but I can’t get over a guy whose never caught a single pass in the NFL comparing himself to one of the best receivers of this generation (that being Larry Fitzgerald). By all means, admire Fitz, aspire to play like him, but geez dude, try playing a down in the NFL before you compare yourself to him ok?
you envy me doncha....
you wanna be like me huh? you know, that “hall of fame” thing….. jealous?

Still got that Matty Ice crush...?
Note, it pales into comparison with the infamous crush a certain poster on this blog had for a certain duck throwing ex-Miami QB
Pay no attention to the babbling bafoon Nat/tcp
I would like CJ or Dez at 12.
I questioned the move last year with the year Ryan had last year, but really wanted to see what Henne did.
We essentially got Long and Henne in exchange for not picking Ryan. Good move FO.
You both know me good enough that I don’t crush like Matty.-) Ok there was that time with Marino. But he is like a 1st love you never get over. That being said I don’t think anyone here would be upset if Matt Ran was our QB.

Another reason to get a legit proven receiver in FA instead of the draft. SOME of these kids are just that.. kids.
Henne is the QB of the Miami Dolphins. Good.
Trade Brown? Are you smoking crack?
Hartline will be the Dolphins #2 for years to come. Kid has IT
We need this pass D to STEP THE F UP and do what they get paid to do!
We dont need a 30+ receiver we need younger, Bowe or Marshall will do fine
But how credible are these sources?
Remember what everyone was saying about Vontae last year? Well, it turns out that all of that garbage was false.
Not to mention
remember what everyone was saying about dan the man marino? Look how that turned out for us?

Not saying its the same thing
hell i want us to use the first round pick on an offensive lineman. Definitely dont want to draft dez,but im just saying,i dont put too much emphasis on what so called experts say.
by dolphinfan4lyfe on Mar 1, 2010 12:08 PM EST via mobile reply actions
I'll pass for now
Is he allowed to go to his Pro Day or does he need to do a late private workout for teams?
I will say lets not forget some of the feelings on Vontae last year in regards to his attitude and maturity.
This could be what causes him to fall to 12 but really if these issues with him are true I’d rather pass.

do you understand this is what we need bryant is a top ten talent
who knows if these rumors hold any water remember vontae davis alot of talk about him being a diva and he slipped to us at 25

Draft him anyways!!!
He’s a talent and it’s a playmakers league. I wonder what the Trifecta thought of him in the interview at the combine? I can’t imagine he’d be late for any meeting after Sparano stares him down.
We drafted a good character guy with all the measureables last year but not that much college production….and look at how good Patrick Turner turned out…which is why we are having this conversation again (and again).
Michael Crabtree is a diva with a posse and Singletary still thought he could turn him around.
