I concur that chad played a role in our success in 2008. He WAS NOT the reason we had such a great turnaround. The reason was a new way of thinking and playing. we hit harder and we wanted to win. Any number of quarterbacks in the league could have had success with the 2008 team. And my final thought on chad pennington is this......he is and always will be a stinking JET. Let the people decide.........

He made millions cheer a team that was in the middle of an NFL Chernobyl
He turned a franchise around
and he did it with less than a weeks worth of practice.
He was unselfish

I've hated the Jest for as long as I know
but I always respected and liked Pennington and Curtis Martin because they are the epitome of CLASS and was in fact honored that such a class act and fierce competitor was playing for the team I love.In fact I liked him so much that when he stood up with blood running down his face I was so irate my wife came running downstairs because she thought I was yelling and cursing at our neighbors.

You could not be more wrong. This franchise needed someone with his leadership to
come in and show them how to win and to do things the right way. I would hate to see him go back to the Jets but the guy is total class and we all owe him some respect for the one great year he gave us. Once he put on the Phins uniform he was one of us.

He played the biggest role on the team.
He was the connection between GOOD team play to GREAT team play. He was a leader, and someone who came in to the team and is willing to do ANYTHING for a team who went 1-15 a year before.
He couldve said “screw this, this team sucks, the jets released me” but instead, he put a season which will define his career. H wont be remembered for what he did as a Jet… He’ll be remembered for his leadership and turnaround season in Miami

Here's the thing....
There are very very few players in the NFL that stay on a team for the life of their careers. If you start hating them all…. Your going to need to find a good therapist.
Think the Patriots fans hate Welker because he’s a Dolphin? Hell no, he’s now a Patriot (swallow hard), and they love him.
Think Minnesota hates Brett because he was a Packer? Hell No, look what he did…..They love him for it.
This list could go on and on…. If youv’e been a dolphin fan for 33 years, then I’d have thought you had a little more sense…….of how the NFL works.

It wasn’t easy for Pennington to make this jump. To go from a hated rival to the other side isn’t easy. He picked the road less traveled. He turned his back on the Jets and came here. How do you know he didn’t want to be here the entire time that the Jets held his contract?
Do you realize how many players get stuck playing for teams they hated growing up?
Bottom line for me is he was here in our time of need and he’s been here ever since. The guy is a class act and honestly all those years he played for the Jets I never looked at him as a jerk. He always came off with class and dignity, Now did I make fun of his noodle arm for 10 years? Hell yeah.
His time with the Jets have past. Jets fans hate us even more because we took their cut QB and followed him all the way to the AFC East Championship.
James, please, have some respect for someone that decided 2 years ago that he was going to uproot his family and at the time not be able to return to the NY area without being called a traitor.

Wouldn’t it satisfy you to no end if Pennington went into the HoF as a Dolphin? We would be denying The Jets a sure fire Hall of Famer as well as the record holder for most accurate passer in history. Just more QB records that now belong to The Dolphins and not New Jersey.

Please, to think otherwise is naive. Runner-up MVP 2008. Come on!! 2008 was the best year as a phin fan in last 10 years. I have a chad jersey, and will still wear it if he goes. I even liked him as a player when he was with the Jets. I know plenty of Jets fans were rooting for him week 17 and in the playoffs last year. True class and professional. Loved him the most in Week 16 last year against KC. He kept the team composed in the coldest game in a while. We never used to win those.

Ultimately...
CP-10 is either a) backup QB material or b) starting QB material for a lower-tier team (ala Cleveland).
So is it worth that much discussion? Not to mention that almost always, if the starter, Henne in this case, is out for any length of time, then things will go south more than likely.
