Talking CP10 vs. Henne

I'd hate to criticize him because he is such a boss. He saved our 2008 season. But our 2009 season's 0-3 start didn't look to good on his part. And after the injury:  Chad Henne got called up. Were we confident? Not really. Was he good? He was average. But the big question is: Does he have potential? He certainly does. The Dolphins need to look towards the future of the team a little. We have to make some big decisions this offseason. Some veterans might have to go, in order to look towards improving out team. If we give Henne a wide receiver that he is confident that when he throws to him, he has it. Like a Davone Bess kind of guy. The guy you can depend on for 3rd & 10 play.

I don't know who this guy is or how were going to find him, but it needs to happen. Well back to our point on our country boy, CP10. We can't make a decision till training camp. Because we need to see if he still has his 2008 mojo. And maybe if we give him his star wide receiver, he can do well also. CP10 did say he would come back as a starter. What does that mean? He loves the game and doesn't care if he starts; which isn't always a good thing. If he wanted to play and have a big team role, then he'd be running out of Miami.  And thats when we look to our toddler in a candy shop; Chad Henne. "But the big question is: Does he have potential? He certainly does. " He is still learning and he is still young. 2 out of 3 times, thats a recipe for success in the future; IF you give him the weapons he needs. And thats a wide receiver that can make that play. A wide receiver that will make the play 9/10 times. Not like Ted Gin that can make the play 1/5 times but then in that 1/5 of the time he gets there; there's a 1/20 chance that he will catch it. So, to sum it up. Henne was new. Now he's trained. And he is going to train this offseason HOPEFULLY with our new WR man. If CP10 takes our starting role, he might do good, but he probably wont be around forever which is exactly why we need this season to prepare Henne for the future.  082209-fins-12_jpg_61443c_medium

Turnovers were a huge reason we lost many games

And i love chad Henne i mean i’m pretty sure that CP10 is a better qb as of right now. He doesn’t turn the ball over which is huge. But seeing what henne can do the fact that he is young hopefully he can learn in this offseason. I wouldn’t want to impede his growth for a year, even if CP10 is better at training camps.

Henne Turnovers

Henne is new so I will let him loose a little. He just really has to work on it. Which is probably his main goal this year.

Hopefully

He puts in extra work with the guys he has, I mean like 2 hours a piece per day type work. Throwing non stop to maybe 2-3 guys that he knows will always start. I think for now (even though he isnt a #1) i think Henne should put in a bunch of work with Bess. the guy catches everything, and is on every down. he has plenty of upside. So i think for now thats a key guy he should work with.

We must go with Henne unless we intend to draft another QB.

If CP10 could be a “true” back up that’d be great. But he’ll not start (for us).

Free Agent

Im fine with the criticism. Thanks for the reminder. You are right. Our best bet would be signing him to a small 1 year deal and see what we can do with him then.

White

Without question

The Wildcat was something we used to give penne a chance to take some snaps off. Also as our franchise progresses, I believe we will use it less and less. Pat White was a gamble, and unless he can pack on some weight I dont see his future here being much longer.

Backup

I think hed be the back up antwhere he went except maybe cleveland…..hed proablly beat us like “little hands” culpepper did

i think he would be great for the teaching aspect

But as a backup thigpen has a better upside

Same

I was impressed with him for a guy who has to walk in on the last game of the year with 0 game time all year.

Well of course i'm letting easy on him he was basically a rookie

But i’m just stating the fact that turnovers were a huge reason why we lost games
I’m sure he will work on it during the offseason and be better than CP10 (at least i hope so)
But this season i would have loved to see CP10

You gotta go with Henne what a blow to a young guys self esteem if you tell him nope your in the back up role after the promise he has shown

look Penny has the experience and he is a leader no doubt but give Henne credit he made his mistakes well big deal it was his first year as a starter(also no Penny on the sideline to help)but he also shown that he can lead a team from behind and with just a little bit more work he could very well be one of the top qb’s in the AFC if not the NFL yeah I said it because I think this kid has the tools.

Does anyone think the Dolphins will re-sign CP10 and then trade him?

Maybe a 2 year $6m or something like that, and then try to trade him to a team with a need?

Dolphins and Gators baby!

by gatorfin on Feb 10, 2010 8:57 AM EST reply actions

Yeah why would CP10 sign just to be traded?
