Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

HEY! Henne You Were Looking For This RIght?

With all this speculation about the draft and what not ive been glued to nfl network and anything else i can find. Yesterday on playbook they were talking bout henne and pointed out the fact that we have no playmakers on offense. they dont know this team like we do we know we have a great complimentary core but need that number 1.

Star-divide

Now im hearing Henne say he would like a 6'3 power guy who can run in the mold of a Braylon Edwards translation I NEED A #1 RECIEVER!

If Dez Bryant is there im taking him and if not im trading down pickin up some extra picks and taking THIS GUY

I dont know about this guy. He does not strike me as especially fast. He actually seems kind

of average speed wise. I did not see anything in the clip that Heartline can not do.

i still dont see it. Hes great in the slot and a really good WR but not a guy thats

a threat to take it to the house on every play. I think thats something that we are missing. We have a slew of guys that can make the catches that he made in that game.

here's the difference

LaFell is a lanky 6’3. His 40 time is projected to be in the mid-to-high 4.4 range, and he ran away from people in college. He’s not blazing, and he’s not gonna just run by people like Ginn can do, but he’s a tough cover because even if you can run with him, he can go up above you and take the ball away. He’s my favorite WR in this draft at the moment because I think we have a chance to get him in round 2.

lol it's gonna be tough to convince you then

you can check out some other highlights… you also have to take into account the lack of good QB play this season (same thing that plagued Benn). I think LaFell has potential to be a #1, and that’s all your really looking for in a 2nd rounder. I wouldn’t take him in round 1 simply because he’s not a sure-fire star, but I really see a lot of good things in him that would convince me to take a chance. I think he immediately becomes our most talented WR.

eh... he is good

but he isnt what we need

what we need is a deep threat, the ball is up fro grabs and you can trust him to make the catch, type receiver

someone who the defense wants to put 2 defenders on to try to SLOW him down (not stop)

Andre Johnson's clones

don’t walk by on a day-to-day basis, man.

We don’t NEED an Andre Johnson so much as we need a LaFell or a Thomas. Deceptively fast, catch the ball with their hands, can be taught better route-running, good blockers.. I still believe Ginn has the speed to be a solid complementary threat on the other side (on some plays, at least).

Why do people link to highlights on YouTube?

I mean, does anyone really think someone is going to make a highlight film of the plays where they drop the ball, get beat in coverage, run a bad route?

They are highlights for a reason lol

by wildfishes on Feb 9, 2010 7:09 PM EST up reply actions

we need an all around receiver that is physical and can go up for balls while going over the middle

We dont need a possession receiver, we already have three of those. What we need is a Larry Fitzgerald type of guy, and since Dez Bryant is comparing himself to Fitz, who better than to go after Bryant.

i reallllly like lafell

this is so intriguing! i feel like this guy with be there late first round, and i like the possibility of getting maybe getting another 2nd with the first round pick deal. LB’s in the second! aka daryl washington?

Weaknesses

Weaknesses:
Inconsistent route runner
Tends to round off on digs, outs, posts, etc.
Lacks a little burst out of breaks
Inconsistent hands in previous years
Not much of a vertical threat
Not an elite athlete

Henne is now our leader. Lets see what the guy can do !
As usual the R&R Xpres is non stop to its next destination !

Dez isnt worth the risky pick

nor is lafell there both good wrs but not star talent what you see is what you get now look for a guy that has a higher celing like Golden Tate or jordan shipley. i would take Tate before either of thease guys

by Shaun B on Feb 9, 2010 8:07 PM EST reply actions

you're comment is completely backwards

you have Tate and Shipley where you should have Bryant and LaFell.

Thank You!

Someone with their eyes on talent over hype. Dez may be the next superstar but he also may not and if there is this much indecision about him then we shouldn’t be burning the #12 pick on him when this draft is chock full o potential stars. I personally prefer Mitchell (I think most know this by now) but there are so many receivers that he is ranked behind that he might be available in the 4th, 5th, or 6th rounds. His contract will be cheaper and he’ll have a lot more to play for and he is one tall sucka at 6’4" with a mid 4.4 time.

He won’t burn Ginn in a foot race but I’ll bet you he gets down the field faster since he can get better seperation at the line. The real point being that he doesn’t have to beat Ginn, just draw the safety off of Teddy so he catch it with no one in front of him.

NY Jets = NFL's Chicago Cubs

There's a fine line between hopeful and desperate. Just look @ Jets fans.
