Anyone else feel some additional dislike for Dave W and Nick S this morning? Two times we had the chance to have Bees playing quarterback for the Phins and twice we passed him over. I wonder if Dave still thinks Fiedler is just as good as Brees? Wonder if Nick still thinks Culpepper's bum knee is better than Brees' bum shoulder....Don't get me wrong, I am happy with the direction the team is going, I think we are going to be fine with Henne, but I can't help thinking "What if." Okay, rant over.

disgusted maybe? bad taste in my mouth… we can never know if drew brees would have been THIS good with us either. Paytons system seems to really open to his strengths. noone knows if that would be the case here. but yes i did have the ehhh feeling.
I think this subject should be buried and put to rest for good so we don't all have to relive it again and again.

Well, since I’m here. We wouldv’ve dumped him after his injury like SD did and he would’ve died a slow death with the team pre Parcells.
So it wouldn’t have mattered if we got him.

Really in the end its all about not reliving what could have been should have been.
I’m sure if I go back over every draft in the last few years I can find other people that we should have picked instead of who we did. I’m sure it would look like some powerhouse of a team but every team can play this game. I’m sure we are not the only team that wishes that they had picked him up when he was free.

I'm glad to have not gotten Brees
Had we done so, the franchise wouldn’t have stayed in the pooper. Rather, it would have had a somewhat decent direction (a facade, if you will) merely because of the additional wins Brees likely would have gotten us. It would have been faux success, which may not have led to, say, Wannstedt’s eventual departure.
I could be entirely wrong, but I’m glad we didn’t have good players leading us nowhere. I’m sure being useless and 15 (1-15) led to Bill Parcells’ decision, at least in part, to come here and revive the franchise as his last “hurrah”. I doubt we sink so low with Brees here, and I doubt we build well enough to actually compete for a championship while he is here.
