Drafting a WR
Its obvious that a WR is in need. But with the likely chance of Bryant gone by 12th pick and every other WR at 12th would be a reach. No need to panic though!! In a draft class with great depth at the position there's several WRs who could really end up being a great pick in the 2nd round. So say these guys were all available who'd you prefer??
Damian Williams: 6'1 195 lbs
Personally i really like the kid, he reminds me a lot of an Ochocinco or Reggie Wayne type of player who's slim agile and quick with great body control and hands. His well known for his crisp route running and could immediately produce for the offense. His been a consistent, reliable target at USC's offense for two seasons. However lacks the physicality and strength to really dominate the game. I think his draft stock would hinder on his 40 time, and a good combine.
Brandon Lafell: 6'3 205 lbs
A big, physical target who's a real tough nut on the field. He can do it all, block, catch, go over the middle, run after the catch. A "Dwyane Bowe clone" as you may have heard and has shades of Anquan Boldin i'd say, this kid can really play, he'd be a great fit for our offense as none of our Wrs are physical. However he lacks the quickness needed to be a deep threat, and doesn't have the necessary athletic ability to be a game breaker.
Golden Tate: 5'11 195 lbs
A small agile, quick and speedy receiver who's a proven home run threat. Many of you may think "oh no, not Ted ginn 2.0!!!" but i tend to disagree, there body type maybe similar but Tate is a tough nut who isn't afraid of contact, he reminds me of Steve Smith from the panthers, as they both posses great speed and quickness as well as the strength to run through tackles after the catch. This guy is a serious play maker who's produce massive numbers at Notre Dame, i think he could be a real weapon, but doesn't satisfy the void for a big target that Henne really needs.
Arrelious Benn: 6'2 220 lbs and Demaryius Thomas: 6'3 225 lbs
When you see his their eye popping measurables you'd think both of them would be a dominant players day in day out, but there stats and film show otherwise. I've included them both in the same paragraph because i see them as the same physical specimen with great triangle numbers but are still some what unproven. Both players are very raw and inconsistent players, as they struggle with the finesse at the WR position, both of them struggle with route running and consistency. However with all that being said, the sky is truely the limit for these two guys who could really end up being great players over time, the names of Andre Johnson and Terrell Owens come to mind every time i think about what their potential could be.
Summary: I think in the end it comes down to what the Dolphins really want, if they want immediate production i'd say take Damian Williams or Lafell, but if they can wait 3-4 years to groom the other two i'd say take Benn or Thomas which could end up either way really, bust or booom. Personally i'd like to see some production straight away but then again do i go for the finesse or brute strength?? Either way I want to see Henne have a great 2010-2011 campaign as our franchise signal caller so we could build on having a prolific offense to succeed in a passing league. As you know we have a great supporting cast of Wrs who could it all but we need that one consistent player who'd put up 70-90 yards in receiving every game, how long has it been since we had a WR go over 1000 yards 2 years in a row??
P.S this is my first post so don't bash me too badly.

Aside from Bryant, I don't really like this receiver class.
There are some intriguing mid to late round prospects that I would take a chance on, but I don’t see any of these guys being worth spending a high pick on given the Dolphins other needs. The 2011 draft has the chance to be loaded with great receivers. IMO, we should get a veteran through a trade and either get a later round prospect this year or trade up and get a 1st round stud next year.
Although I Ultimately Agree With You
I’m not sold on Dez Bryant either. Hasn’t played in a year, hyped to the highest extent by the media. IDK, it just sounds a lot like Mike Williams a few years ago.
Yeah, how'd that missing a year workout for the last elite WR ....
Mike Williams?
If this post contains no substance, just assume that my answer is Brandon Marshall. Pay the 1st and 3rd, get the proven guy, and don't worry about that position for the next decade.
exzakly, next year we can get that freak of nature, & then the fan's will flock to buy season ticket's there wont be many singles left next year ticket's that is!!!!!!

i really only like 2 receivers in this class.
Dez bryant of course. i hope hes there at 12. and dezmon briscoe. he could be a great steal. if i had to pick one i would say demaryius thomas. but it seems like he drops some easy passes and the dolphins really dont need someone like that.

I'm loving some of the potential late round steals
I’ve mentioned Carlton Mitchell enough times on here that you all know I think he is a 6th round steal. Another guy I am thinking is a potential star in waiting is Marcus Easley of UConn. Not a lot of video out there on him but he does have some impressive practice clips and @ 6-2, 216 with 4.45 to 4.5 speed he could be a Hartline-like surprise.
I don’t think Parcells will use a draft pick early and there is some real dropoff after LaFell in the draft so don’t bet on anybody in the first 3 rounds (maybe J. Williams but I don’t see it) but if we pick up another pick in round 2 or 3, keep an eye out for Dexter McCluster.
NY Jets = NFL's Chicago Cubs
There's a fine line between hopeful and desperate. Just look @ Jets fans.
