Yeah, I know, wow, how corny am I? Sometimes, very.
Anyway, there goes a second round option at WR. I was actually starting to like Thomas and the prospect of taking him in the second or possibly stealing him in the third. Granted, that's still a possibility if he falls, which is likely now. He won't be able to do anything positive for himself at the Combine, and running routes well was what he needed to do to get into that high/mid second round area.
No longer.
Considering the remaining talent at WR, this really does screw our odds unless Bill's willing to wait on this appendage to heal. Doubtful, considering the needs at various other positions. Every wide receiver around or below him immediately gets upgraded, making the market for wide receivers even less friendly. Of course, I could care less, as long as we take a stud next season in that heavy class.
I guess, then, in some ways it helps. Perhaps instead of Micah Johnson, that team will grab LaFell (mere example) instead and let MJ slip to us. I'm sure 32 teams is enough to negate that, but every move alters the rest of the draft greatly.
Now I'm just rambling.
