Just curious to know why this has not been brought up, considering all the other goofy ideas I keep seeing posted about Free Agency and trades.
Julius Peppers - soon to be Free Agent. Which means - we could sign him outright with nothing but the contract, right? No trade compensation, no spending of a draft pick, just money. And while I am not sure about this, I think that we might be able to account for any guaranteed money up front, in this uncapped season, so that the back end of the contract would not hurt us on down the road.
So the big question is: Do you think Peppers could help us with our lack of a pass rush? I hear that the Pats are asking themselves the same thing, and are very interested. While Peppers is technically a DE in a 4-3 alignment, and he is probably too big for an OLB, I can't help but wonder if the Triad could find a way to use his talents... especially with Joey "waa-waa" Porter out of the picture, and Jason Taylor questionable.
I put it out there - Do you think adding Julius Peppers to the Fins D would help bring the added pressure we were lack lasting season? And if so, do you think Nolan would use him as a DE, an OLB, or in a hybrid role?
Finally, just for fun, how excited would you be to see the Dolphins sign both Dansby and Peppers, and then turn around and draft Dan Williams with their 2nd pick, and either Berry or McClain with their 1st?
