'The Phinsider' falls to third in overall vote, and current first place blog mocks Dolphins

Print[Thursday Update: We were back at #1 but have since slipped down to #2 again. You know what that means. Lets get it going, everyone! And thanks for the support! Also, the Sun-Sentinel has contacted me and did stress that fraudulent votes will not be counted. So don't do that. We can win this thing without doing that and I don't even think any of you were anyways. So let's get it done!]
[WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Though we're hanging on to 1st place in the "sports" category, we've fallen to 3rd place overall. And the first place blog is MOCKING THE DOLPHINS on their website. Here's what it says on "Photography is Not a Crime" - the blog that currently sits in first place: "If The Phinsider is anything like the Miami Dolphins, it will fizzle out in the final round." The post on their site also talks about how their "Alexa ranking" is ahead of ours and therefore is more deserving of the first place ranking. Time to show them what we - and the Miami Dolphins - are all about.]

I dont know. I have know guys that for whatever reason could

Most of the emails were emails I made for other people like
friends with CPUS and family… Takes a lot of time to log in and out of that many emails though.. It took a couple hours between registering, loggin in,voting, taking a break and starting over… It was worth it though…

The Sun Sentinel’s server at http://www.sun-sentinel2.com was attacked by a malware virus. The origin of the virus is still unknown, but the server in question was shut down and a clean version of the voting page was launched within 2 hours of the initial attack. Please be sure to update your links to: http://SunSentinel.com/bob to ensure that they link to the clean voting page.
Unfortunately, even the best virus protections can be hacked. Anyone following the news lately knows that a recent wave of attacks has hit Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, Hotmail, and many others. Voting numbers have remained steady throughout the contest, so we do not feel that this attack hindered the voting process.

We’ve seen many posts suggesting ways to “stuff the ballot box”. When the voting is complete, we will be analyzing each and every vote by email and IP address and any fraudulent votes will be thrown out. Better to win the right way than to get thrown out for cheating.

I don't think it's the IP
The paper is doing this in order to inflate their online users. They’re just accumulating a shit load of fake profiles as well as many real new ones in order to pad their stats on the internet-sales side. Basically this allows their sales people to bark about increased use, new users and constant activity on the site.
Basically you’re reasoning is right, they just use it in the opposite form to justify their increase.
