Boldin Or Bryant

Obviously we can't help but beat the dead horse that is "Miami needs a #1 WR".  We have a lot of options via Draft and FA but, of the FA (which is the focus) only two stand out as realistic.

Star-divide

Anquan Boldin - Great receiver who is often overshadowed by Larry Fitzgerald and can really be a number one receiver in our system.  The Cards are looking for a 2nd round and maybe a 3rd.  Now either would seem like a great deal but, we have his injury prone status to watch out for. Most people would hang him out to dry for this reason (e.g. Ronnie Brown) but, thats because he really fights every game.

Antonio Bryant - Probably one of the best receivers Tampa has had short of Keyshawn Johnson.  He has the abilities to make some spectacular catches (2008 greatest play award) and has a possibility to shine in our run first system.  The down side is that this past season hasn't been one of the best for him... to put it nicely.  He's a FA and its been said that the Bucs are bot interested in re-signing him and if you add that one to his poor season, he should come relatively cheap.

You decide which A.B. you would like to see in a Fins uniform

Go after Bryant if he becomes a FA.

That way we don’t have to waste a pick on Boldin, but I’d really like Boldin for a 3rd. IT’S TOO HARD TO CHOOSE!

just aint gonna happen.

What is different this year is that we have a QB that really could use a true #1 WR, unlike CP10.

Hold a sec

it depends on what you consider a “name”.

We will address the LB core

reinvent it in fact. But as for the WR core it wont happen. Cant fix everything at once and wrs isnt that bad missing a #1 only, next year FAs will be FAs and the wr draft is very deep and talented. All that means is those that want a fancy wr are going to be disappointed

But as for the WR core it wont happen

I disagree. I think we will adress it, There are just too many rumors floating around that we like this and taht WR. That says they know this position needs attention and are looking into it. Not to mention Henne came out and asked for one.

Did you actually read the link you posted for Bryant?

Flaws… Rounds off routes and plays at half speed at times. Doesn’t like to block. Fights with his coaches but doesn’t justify his talk on the field. Has some attitude issues.

I’m hoping you didn’t read it otherwise you’re just trying to pad your post total.

they will never sign antonio bryant, not as long as parcells or his guys are running this team. Do you not recall that Antonio threw a sweaty tall into parcells face during a verbal sparring? needless to say his a$$ got traded soon after. No way in hell will parcells let him on this team. And, I dont think one magical season makes him a great reciever…better look at his career stats.

well not the one i'm looking for but it still clears it up
Yet Bryant says he and Parcells cleared the air, with the coach informing the receiver of his clashes with former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor. Bryant says he has spoken to Parcells "on several occasions" and that the current Dolphins executive vice president "sends messages to me through other coaches."

Among the messages: "Keep it up," Bryant says.

Everybody is talking about the incident with Bryant and Parcells

buts that’s not the biggest issue keeping ABryant away. It’s the fact that he only plays well in a contract year. He doesn’t try when he knows he’s getting paid. It’s been the case throughout his career, which is why he’s bounced around team to team instead of somebody saying “hey, this guy is a number 1, let’s keep him.” I wouldn’t even consider making him an offer.

Nicky has it correct. I would not want A. Bryant. Third option at best [not because he lacks talent but the up and down attitude] especially with the potential negative influence on the young Wr’s on the roster. Bryant also had a knee issue this past season. Would he be 100% at the start of OTA’s.

Antonio bryant, no

Boldin, yes. if the cards are willing to sacrifice and take a 3rd for him ****AND**** we can somehow score another 3rd rounder from someone than I see the FO doing it. But I think those are two serious X factors. Plus you have to keep in mind how much does he want to get paid.

I would love seeing Chad throw some bombs at Anquan, but i think there is a 45.67% chance of it happening.

i play reciever in Football and i agree with wat u put for Anquan Boldin, if you really put all your effort there's always a chance you goijg to get injured

so that’s why supposedly he’s injury prone, he goes for the tough catches then gets nailed, he lowers his shoulders, and he gets dirty in blocking we need some like him i think we should take Anquan Boldin.
