Perfect DRAFT / FA
My perfect OFFSEASON
I did a lot of research lately, watching scouting tapes, reading mocks, blogs etc
i think its pretty clear and obious what we are going to do this offseason.
FREE AGENCY
ILB Karlos DANSBY (ARI)
he is one of the top 5 ILB in this league. every time i watch the cards he makes some kind of big plays. even more impressive is the fact that he is so productiv behind not even average dline. so he is good trough traffic, instinstincts and a nose for the ball. imagine what a player he can become behind an elite dline who frees him up to fly around. when i scout/rate player i always look out for this kind of stuff. thats also a reason why i wasnt high on the sign Bart Scott stuff....and guess what, he is not that kind of player he gets paid for.
FS Antonyo BETHEA (IND)
i like this guy for years, Bob Sanders always got the credit but this guy is the real playmaker. the Colts have probalby one of the weaker CB corps. thanks to Bethea everybody was always lined up correctly and in place. this guy would be THE solution for us. he is a ballhawk and also a force against the run. Not so sure he will make it on the market. Colts seems to be a very smart franchise, doubt they woud let one of their top 3 defenders walk.
resign:
TE Fasano, TE Haynos, WR Bess, OLB Taylor*
Fasano can be a very productiv player in the right system. henning has to do a better job in using him. fasano is an allround talent. that being said i think he was way too often used in protection stuff. i feel like later in the year the fins kinda figured out that they need to stop that insane tight formation playaction stuff at 3rd and forever. Whenever Henne was on the field in shotgun/3-5 wideout formations he was able to deliver the ball fast and on target. thats what the saints did all season, thats what the colts did all season. im asking for that since the ravens playoff loss. thats the way you kill an agressive blitzing team like the jets. force them to take their LBs off the field and force them to use dbacks instead. (by the way the jets depth sucks at that position) - if you do that, your TE, RB etc are not forced to blitz pick up and you give your QB additional targets. thats when Fasano AND Bess are their best - in space. I do believe that we have one of the top 5 young slot posession receivers in Bess. I love Haynos frame (6'8 270) - he is like an additional Lineman out there, and potential, he already became a much better blocker and will get only better. He should be kept for the run game, i-formation etc as a #3 TE - paired with a #2 catching TE. JT should be kept around for leadership reason and as a pass rush specialist only. i dont like him as a starter anymore, way to slow and stiff. if he is willing to come back for the right price and for that kind of role sign him.
DRAFT (v1.0)
1) NT D. Williams, 2) WR B. LaFell, 3) TE J. Graham / OLB, 4) Blount 5/6/7) FS M. Rolle and a WR as such as
S. Hodge, D. Briscoe, M. Williams, C. Carter
DRAFT (v2.0) - trade back up in late 1st
1) WR Bryant, 1) ILB/OLB S. Weatherspoon**, 3) TE J. Graham / OLB, 4) Blount 5/6/7) FS M. Rolle / KR & WR as such as
S. Hodge, D. Briscoe, M. Williams, C. Carter
** trade this years and next years 2nd rounder to a late first round team to get the next DeM. Ryans. the addition of Wheaterspoon gives us flexibility. He can be an OLB or ILB, me personally i like him better at ILB. He could be our insurance if Crowders knees continue to be an issue. Dansby + Wheaterspoon would be a sick duo.
Also a priority is to add depth and talent at OG and OLB position.
We need to make sure that starting from the rookie camp, the competition at the WR position is high. there is no way we can have another year with that kind of production. to be honest i think we dont have a bad WR corps, our problem is that we have too many left shoes and no righty. Too all Ted Ginn haters....listen up, he is driving me crazy as well with his nose for the sideline but get one thing straight, if he is on the field, the opponents fear the deep pass and are forced to double cover him deep = our running game gets going (no 8-9 men boxes)
if he is not on the field - who can go deep? Bess? - NO, Hartline?-Maybe but he is not an extreme blazer with the same effect Ginn has. Camarillo? - Child Please, as much as i love him, Camarillo isnt gonna outrun an Defensive End. I think he is a beast, catching everything, being mentally strong and dependable. BUT so are Hartline and Bess. Hartline is a faster younger Camarillo with upside. Bess im very high on and as soon we are getting a vertical game this kid is going to shine. give him the ball in space and good things happen. Camarillo will be gone. Ginn can be a very good player for us, what we need is a WR coach who fires him up, fixes his bruised ego and lights the fire in him. The other thing he needs is the Miami Dolphins fanbase to realize that we are one of the worst bunches in making our own players tiny. cheer for him, scream his name and he will be a deep ball specialist and Lee Evans type of player. he will never break 10 tackles for a score, so what? he can outrun the Revis's and as i said forces the safety out of the box. line him up with a no. 1 wideout who can outwrestle and outrun = both safetys out of the box and with our OLine and running game. our whole offense will be a force, specially our running game. that will open up the playaction deep balls, where Ted Ginn is the perfect player for.
i stil hate the Matt Roth move... and thats why....check out this vid (Channing Crowder - Matt Light fight, and check Matt Roth what he is doing with the Patriots #71

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Antoine Bethea is not a free saftey he is a strong hes only playing there because of the injury to bob sanders and plus he struggles in coverage at times and we dont need to resign haynos we need a upgrade
last but not least i dont get your draft and how we have two first rounders
Life Under the Scope
Dont sleep on P.Turner
Not two first rounders
Dez if they trade up. Weatherspoon if they trade back.
I think we keep Haynos...
The guy is like 6’8’’ and could be a good red zone target. Red zone targets are something this team really needs because we certainly didnt have any last year or the year before that. The only guy who was getting looks in the endzone was Hartline. We need guys like Haynos and Turner to step up for us because they have the size to go up for a jump ball.

haynos doesnt strech the field
and proved hes nothing more than a backup when fasano was out with injury and hes mediocre at best hes expendable and we need to upgrade

Perfect Draft/FA
This team has depth, now we need to upgrade at WR, NT, OLB, ILB, and FS. I agree that Dansby should be our number one priority in FA. We need a playmaker on defense. I also believe that we should go after Vince Woolfork (if available, which is unlikely). Trade are 3rd round pick for Anquan Boldin. I also agree that we keep Jason Taylor and use him as a designated rusher. Also I would not bring back CP10 and I wish that we did not select Pat White. However, now the coaches are going to have to figure out how to make him a playmaker as both a runner and receiver. l definitely keep Thigpen as our number 2 quarterback. Hopefully, Chris Clemons can be a quality FS. I am not sold on Antrell Rolle as a FS. If you watched the playoff games against the Packers and Saints, you will see he did not make any significant plays.
Regarding the draft here is what I would like to see happen.
1st Round – Rolando Mc Clain, 2nd Round – Sergio Kindle OLB Texas, and a NT in the 4th round, if we do not get one in FA.
Our starting ILB’s had a total of 122 tackles last season compare that to London Fletcher of the Skins who had 137 tackles himself. We have to get stronger up the middle. DEFENSE IS THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY THIS OFF SEASON.
McClain
like all your points except McClain im not a huge fan
he doesnt have a nose for the ball trough traffic, Cody set him probalby more free then other ILB in college but he def lacks speed and i doubt he will be an upgrade over Ayodele
What do you think about Wheaterspoon? i feel him more, and he too me is the playmaker we dont have on the roster yet
I have to agree defense is key this year
I still believe that trading our 1st pick to a team with a much lower 1st round pick would be ideal. It would set us up to get 3 possible starters. two of them being linebackers, and the other being NT. Its essential that we make a move to pick up AB, because he will really add something to this offense. Even if he doesnt get the 1000 yard seasons he was getting in Arizona, I will almost guarentee you that the rest of our corps stats will increase, especially those of Bess, Hartline, Camarillo, Ginn and even our TE. I still also feel that we should trade away a player or two for some extra picks. I know a few that might catch us something nice is Thigpen (hate to see him go), Camarillo (him too), Ginn, Channing Crowder. I think catching an extra 3rd somehow will really help out this team.
Weathersppon will beast i would nab him, with the first pick, Roland Mcclain might be smart and a good tackler but tell me another stat he excells in?
nothing just tackles another Channing i want Dansby in middle( Play-maker) and Weatherspoon in the outside (Play-maker). Trade down to get him though,
second round pick up Cam Thomas and later Darryl Washington.
Third round pick up Carlton Mitchell and pick up another Third via trade to pick up Darryl Sharpton.
4th Jimmy Graham and
5th Lagerrate Blount our D will look like this…
Langford, Thomas, Starks
Wake/Taylor, Channing, Dansby, Weatherspoon ( Washington and Sharpton will come in to give Crowder and Dansby breaks.)
Smith, Davis, Clemons, Bell
Our O will look like this…
Chad Henne
Brown, Williams, Blount, Sheets, Cobbs (Trade Lex Hilliard as we have enough RB’S)
Mitchell, Hartline, Bess, Ginn, Turner (Camarilllo traded for a third along with someone else but i don’t know who)
Fasano, Graham, and Haynos
and the Oline.
well what do ya think

nooo hes not do you understand that a olb in the 3-4 is a defensive end hybrid i watched the senior bowl
and he said that gm’s told him he would be inside in the 34 and outside in a 43 which is what he played in collehge
Life Under the Scope
Dont sleep on P.Turner
well he's not for us why? when we need a playmaker at OLB and you just said the GM'S said he's an ILB i was satating he should be an OLB fore the stats and Build

dude trust me we won't get him for a ILb if IF we get Danby if we don't get Dansby then Weatherspoon will be an ILB

Wheaterspoon
i love Spoon, but i do think in a 3-4 he is a ILB only.
Tuna & Co like their OLB to be big and physical, thats not Spoons strenght, he wont outmuskle OLineman.
at ILB in a 3-4 he can use his speed, run wit TEs, fly around etc
thats what we need
in that case i would consider moving Crowder back to OLB and start Dansby and Wheaterspoon at the Inside. PS: not so sure Crowder still got the OLB skills, ask his knees
well i agree he'll be an ILB only if we move crowder and get Dansby. but think about it he could use his quickness to get by the oline sort of how cameron Wake

spoon @ OLB
i think what makes cameron wake special is his combo, power & speed, that being said, Dumerville isnt the biggest dude on the planet either…so there is a chance he could succeed. but do we really need another liability in the run game? after we gave porter the shoe?
i love him at ILB
not sold on OLB

o and crowder,
he’s not a liability in the run in fact he’s a beast at everything, he rushes the passer, good in coverage, and a good point of attack. not only that but he has a great personality which makes me want him more. He could be a good leader along side Channing Crowder and or Dansby.

first of all have you seen Weatherspoon?
he has everything he needs to be a beast at OLB if that doesn’t work then just plug him in at ILB but since Channing is still going to be on the team move him to OLB, that’s why im making this argument because we already have a solid ILB and with the possibility of getting Dansby it makes even more sense.

but do you think it would make more sense to play Spoon at ILB (an easier conversion for a 4-3 OLB IMO) and move Dansby to the SOLB, where I’m pretty he’s played some before?

NO, only for the fact that i feel we need a playmaking vetran at the ILB position
and have a younger person on the outside, due to the fact they won’t tire out as fast.

if we don't get pick dez bryant or sign a free agent wide receiver.......look to have the same receiving corps next year
Just one mans opinion...
in other words i don't see us picking a wideout anywhere else in the draft but round 1 and even that is a LONG shot
we addressed our young receiving corps already……turner, bess, hartline,…..and the young leftover, ginn……….. the way i see it is bryant or boldin or bust……..
i dont think we want to pay for brandon marshall or any other high price tag wideouts and none of the lower tier wideouts in the draft are worth a pick…………….
trust me……i know what i’m talking about

LaFell
i like him even better then Bryant
LaFell seems much faster
Hmmm well if we get Dansby then there is no need to take an ILB so here would be my first mock
1.Dan Williams
2.Sean Weatherspoon
3. Larry Asante
4. Jimmy Graham
But if we do not get Dansby then this is what I would like
1.McClain
2.Cam Thomas
3. Eric Norwood
4.Jimmy Graham
I know we need a wr but I have a feeling that we will bring in a vet via FA or a trade

Now that we know we can not release J Pissy until AFTER his $1 mil bonus is paid, I think we trade him and maybe a 4th round for Anquan.
I would like to see us get Anquan, Dansby, Wilfork in FA/ trades.
Then draft an OLB, TE (or 2), safety (or 2), G & C
resign JT, Bess, CP10 and Fasano

I don't think that the pending possible renovations have any bearing on who we sign
or do not sign. Your probably right that we would be lucky to get one and no way we get three.
Ross is at this point trying to get the renovations paid for some other way than out of his pocket. Even if he has to pick up half the tap hes the second richest owner in the NFL and can easily afford it if it means more money in his pocket in the long run.

Wilfork currently plays in Taxachusetts, one of the highest state income tax rates around, so the price for him here will be a little lower
Besides, he is worth it.

It only depends on who is after Wilfork and what other offers he receives.
I would love to go after Boldin if his price in a 3rd or less. Just dont know if this FO will do that.

Thats the trade I was promoting last week before we attempted to dump him.
I knew then that there were some rumors coming out of AZ that they were interested. Its a good deal for both of us. We get a big play WR that we need and they get an outside rusher that they need. Also AZ was one of three teams that Porter listed as places he wanted to go and everyone knows that Boldin would love to come back to Miami.

BOLDIN
i dont know but im not a huge fan of Boldin vs 2nd or 3rd…
he is up in the ages, we dont need a superstar for the next 2 seasons only, we need a superstar for the next 5-8 years
+ he seems getting injured latley
what i like….i bet he isnt a huge fan of the jets either..
Vincent Jackson would be a huge addition… the only question mark… VJ, his drinking “talent” sobe night clubs…. sounds like juggeling nitro g.
Bolts get a 1st & 3rd if we sign VJ. Too damn expensive. J Princess and 3rd gets Anquan.
Next year we draft a #1 WR – I hear next year’s draft is deep with them. Q gives them a couple of years to develop as well as mentoring them and all our #2s
