What do you guys think of Demaryius Thomas?
To me Demaryius seems very powerful and has pretty good hands. He reminds we alot of anquan boldin in that hes not gonna run out of bounds, hes gonna take the hit and try to get extra yards which i think that parcells will like.
However taking him 12th overall would be ridiculous but maybe we can snag him in the 2nd which i think would be a steal.
What do you guys think of him?

he just may be THE most difficult prospect to grade
in college, he was held back by a 90% run oriented team, but that allowed him to surprise DBs when they did throw, averaging 25 yds/catch. It would be interesting to have seen him in a texas tech offence, he certainly could have caught 100 balls, but averaged about 10 yds/catch.
I see him as a short to intermediate #2 WR who is very raw, he looked like a man among boys being 50 pounds and 5 inches taller than typical college CBs, BUT he will also LOOK like man among boys being 40 pounds and 4 inches taller than typical NFL DBs. mid 2nd round

in my opinion
He may prove to be the steal of the draft at WR. Size, speed, hands, and physicallity. If we are able to snag a #1 WR as well as fill some other holes i would certainly take him if he’s on the board mid second and beyond. That would give him a chance to develop behind a vet ala T.O. and realize his potential.

I don't know about speed...
Most people are projecting Thomas to run between a 4.55 and 4.65 40 time. While that’s faster than the average person, that’s slower than many other WRs in this year’s draft. I wouldn’t take Thomas over say, Arrelious Benn. Benn is a better route runner, just as big and physical, and will run a 4.4-4.5 40 time.

but benn, forsure is also a first rounder as i said if we get him he will work his bottom off flourish down here in florida!
sign benn first then get thomas with the second of our third pick’s. after the trifecta get down with all there master wheeling & dealing with a few lbs of dead weight on this team. I dont need to mench. any name’s, but two wr. in this years draft would be nice.
thx OH REC’D

I love Demaryius Thomas
If we could get him in the third round he would be a steal. I would be happy to take him in the second too.

Don't waste your time
Thomas comes from a crazy run-oriented offense. He is a great run blocker, but doesn’t really have to run routes. He will have to work on route running, picking up schemes, and will more or less be a project player for the Dolphins. He will most likely be available in the 3rd or 4th round. Only a team with good depth at the WR position would take him earlier, like the Texans, Chargers or Patriots. We drafted a similar WR in Turner. However Turner came from a pro-style offense with more pro style routes. Unless Thomas REALLY learns the playbook, he’ll take a season or two to develop.

I think Thomas will be ten times better than Turner in the league
Plus with our rushing attack he would serve a vital role. With him and the TE & FB, it would be like having 3 extra blockers. Ronnie would have a field day with defenses, in turn opening up our offense for Henne to throw. To who, Bess and Thomas

But still...
I don’t want to draft a receiver to be a blocker. I want a playmaker. This kid doesn’t run routes in that goofy triple option offense. He’ll have to learn to run pro routes and may not see alot of action. If we trade for Boldin and get this guy later… sure, I could handle that. But drafting this kid expecting him to be great right off the bat is silly.

Good point, and I agree.
Boldin would be an addition that would help us not only now but long term. especially when it comes to teaching these young guys. And having Thomas as his understudy will help keep the drive alive even after Boldin is done and gone.

Comparing him to Johnson???
Wow. The only decent comparison I see is size. Johnson is taller, faster, and much more athletic. Calvin Johnson ran a 4.3 40 (in borrowed cleats no less). Thomas will be happy with a sub 4.6. I’m not trying to knock Thomas here, I just saying the comparisons to Johnson gotta stop. Its not even close.

I agree
we need LB way too much. And we are in a perect situation to pick up two very viable starters in the first two rounds.

Take a pass on this guy
He can’t run routes and his 40 time is around 4.7. I’d much rather draft Carlton MItchell in the third round.
