Be careful what you wish for...

Folks, we all must get real and support our team. Bill Cowher is not gonna come here with a killer O coordinator, a Pro Bowl QB, a lightning fast receiver, a fresh running back, and a ball hawking shut down corner in his back pocket. He's not gonna parachute into Sun Life Stadium, wave a magic wand, and put us in the Super Bowl the first year.

Please reference this: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/CowhBi0.htm

Coach Cowher went into one of the most stable and winningest franchises, and how did he do? He did great, BUT it took him 3 years to win his first playoff game. Remember all the quarterbacks he went through, looking for the next Terry Bradshaw, before Big Ben landed in his lap? He was with the Steelers 14 seasons before he won a Super Bowl!!! The following year, he went 8 - 8, and retired.

In this day and age of "Instant Gratification Demanding fans & ownership," Bill Cowher would have been fired by his 3rd year. You want Bill Cowher? I would welcome him, but NOBODY is coming in here and being an instant success. You have to build a team. That takes time and patience. Something fans these days don't have. AND, it's alot harder today than it was back when Don Shula came in here.

If I were Mr. Ross, I'd give Tony another year. I would bite the bullet and do whatever it takes to draft a franchise QB in the 1st round. I would lure in a hot O Coordinator, and try and find the next sleeper WR & RB in this draft, like a Marques Colston and a Chris Ivory. And do WHATEVER IT TAKES to keep Mike Nolan as our D Coordinator. I do think we should tell Parcells to go jump off a bridge & see what Tony & Jeff can do on their own.

Our F.O. did pretty good at building a good Defense through the draft, then when we got Nolan it came together. The players love playing for TS. I say we give him a fair shot, and start building a new offense in the draft. Be a fan, support your team, pray for a little better luck next year on injuries, bad ref's calls, and play calling in the 4th quarter. If we woulda won the Steelers game (which was taken by a bad call), and finished off Cleveland, Buffalo & Detroit, we'd be going into N.E. Sunday looking to knock the Jets outta the playoffs. We have a good foundation laid. Do you have the patience to tear it down and start again, or the balls to see what we can build on this foundation and maybe take steps to bring pride back to our franchise?

Be careful what you wish, you just might get it.
