Hello Phin fans!
I have been visiting the Phinsider for a while now just never bothered to make an account until now so I decided to share some thoughts on this year's season and our playoff chances.
I have been playing around with ESPN's 2010 NFL Playoff Machine and I have come to the conclusion that we are definatly not out of it yet. I realize no one thinks we are mathmatically out... because we aren't... but after playing around with this toy I think we have a decent shot based on current team playing trends and their play previously. I tried to be as objective as possible except with the caviat that Miami wins out. We pretty much have to win out barring a collapse by several other teams. The way I see it, we could very well have three teams coming from the AFC East this year with Miami picking up the 6th seed. Here's what I see as our best shot:
Ravens vs. Steelers
Ravens vs. Saints
Those games are our best shot in my estimation. There are other games and other ways but this I see as the most likely positive outcome for our beloved Dolphins and these are not unrealistic or too much of a stretch. The Jets Play three tough teams in a row (including us) that they could easily lose the way they have been cutting it thin the last few weeks against lesser teams.
The Ravens are tough, but the Steelers already beat them, and with a backup QB. If the Steelers come to play and the Saints continue to play well and shows flashes of '09 then they can handle the Ravens.
Of course all this means nothing if Miami doesn't win out. They must take care of their end of the bargain. Either way I just hope they perform well the rest of the way and build upon this season as they prepare for the next.
Here is the link to my picks for the next few weeks. Feel free to pick me apart and tell me why I'm wrong!
Later! Keep it loose Chad!
