As of December 22nd, the Dolphins are sitting at the number 16 position in the draft. Miami doesn't have a second round draft pick they gave it to Denver for Brandon Marshall.

Miami should trade down with the New Orleans Saints who currently sit at the 25th position in the first round. The Saints have the 28th position in the second round.

However, in the third round the Saints have the 7th and the 28th pick as of December 22nd.

The playoffs will determine the slot selection.

The 28th pick in the second or the 7th pick in the third will be perfect for Miami. The picks are not that far apart and it saves money.
