Miami should learn something from yesterday’s loss because the Ravens have handed us the formula for success on offense. Put both teams side by side and you will see their players are similar in talent and potential.
Both Baltimore and Miami have a third year QB with a strong arm. Not the strength of either team but certainly not the weakness.
Both Baltimore and Miami have a top tier WR with a good compliment of receivers
Both Baltimore and Miami have a strong stable of RB that can run and catch. Or at least Miami’s backs used to catch well.
Both Baltimore and Miami have strong offensive lines.
OK so if they are so similar then why the discrepancy in the score. Well believe it or not it’s Cam Cameron. Yeah I said it. By taking shots down the field and I don’t mean once or twice if all the stars and moon line up perfectly. They take shots all day and open up the middle of the field for the running backs.
How many times did we see Rice catch a 1-5 yard pass with nobody around? Or a LB struggling to keep up with him. Henning keeps saying that other teams are playing umbrella coverage so that’s why we don’t try the deep passes. Well what were we running against Baltimore because there was nobody between the line of scrimmage and 15-20 yards deep. When we see umbrella coverage there are defenders 10 yards out. Hum I wonder why… Maybe because we never try to hit a receiver 30 yards deep.
Lastly what good is a strong arm if we don’t throw it deep. We might as well let CP throw all the 20 yards or less passes because he will is the master at it.
Grab your pitchforks and torches and get Henning.
