The Dolphins and Raiders will kickoff at 4:05 pm this afternoon. Until then, consider this thread the pre-game/early games open thread. This is also where I will post all of the relevant pre-game news that may break between now and kickoff - including inactives, of course.
So spend your morning/early afternoon right here. Our game thread will be up at 4.
Inactives and Starting Lineups Updates
The big news today is that Chad Henne will indeed start this afternoon. I'm excited to see how he performs today. Not only is his mental toughness going to be challenged (coming back from the benching). His physical toughness will be tested as well as he plays through that knee injury sustained two weeks ago.
The Dolphins will have four receivers active, as Brandon Marshall is out today and Julius Pruitt was not activated off of the practice squad. Brian Hartline and Davone Bess will start, with Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore as the backups.
Joe Berger returns to start at center for the Dolphins. Richie Incognito will be the backup center, as the recently signed Eric Ghiaciuc is inactive.
Reshad Jones is also inactive even though he started last week fir the injured Chris Clemons and practiced fully Friday. Jones was listed as probable on the injury report. But he is out today.
Miami's full list of inactives is as follows: QB Patrick Ramsey (3rd), WR Brandon Marshall, OL Eric Ghiaciuc, DL Ryan Baker, OLB Ike Alama-Francis, S Reshad Jones, TE Mickey Shuler, and OT Matt Kopa.
It's expected to be a beautiful afternoon in Oakland for a football game. Game time temperature will be around 55 degrees. Skies will be clear. And the winds will be light. You can't ask for better weather than this.
Matty's Key Player
I spoke about him in my Friday post and I will say it again - the Dolphins need to get Ronnie Brown involved. I believe it'll have to be Brown who picks up a lot of the slack with Brandon Marshall out today. Getting Ronnie involved in the passing game will be very important. He's as talented a back out of the backfield as there is in the league. He just never gets those opportunities anymore. It's time to lean on Brown so we can see what Brown can do for this offense.
