Jets love Jason Allen

As I was watching the Texans and Jets game yesterday, Houston made a great comeback and had the Jets on the brink of defeat. But with a minute left, the Jets did something, which was very smart. They targeted Jason Allen. I hate Jason Allen, I mean this guy has no talent, and he isn't worth playing a snap. When Miami played Jets earlier this year, 3rd and 10 with like 2:50 left, Sanchez completes a throw to Edwards on terrible coverage by Allen. Well the same thing happened in the Jets game. the Jets are their own 35 yard line, and Sanchez goes deep to Edwards with Allen in coverage and he completes it to Edwards and gets down at the 5. Although its a long shot for Miami to win the division, I always look at the bright side and really wished the Jets lost this game. What sucks was I had a 35 year old cousin, who is a jets fan, was sitting there watching the game with me and when the texans were up, I was happy and shouted Jets suck and all that, but thanks to Jason Allen, he had the last word on me. He tells me, I will throw all my money that Miami will never do a drive like that. Sadly, I told him you are right. You can say that I am pretty much happy Jason Allen is not a Dolphins anymore.

i laughed

i saw him get burned. saw his jersey say allen and thought there was no way it could be him.

how could any nfl franchise afford to have him on the roster, let alone on the field at such a crucial time in the game.

Dolphinsfan23, did you see his reaction after, hands in the air asking where was his help. dude flat out can’t cover.

You gotta hate to lose more than you want to win

He played better than Sean Smith has this year.

And The Texans are stupid. They ran the ball several times inside The Jets 10 to kill the clock rather than taking shots at the end zone to PUT THEM AWAY. Same garbage philosophy that we’ve had to deal with here.

thats not saying much

theres a reason this team keeps picking up CB’s. SS is not what you all thought he was

Exactly,

but better is better. He was also playing better than Benny Sapp, so why would you cut the younger guy who is playing better?

Already been covered (not by me).

Where was the safety?

Bing bing bing.

You have 1 on 1 coverage with their #1 WR? The safety was never around when Allen got beat badly.

Allen has to play to the flat and let the safety cover the corner

it became one on one when Holmes? broke for the corner. With no safety helping the “deep end” any player on the team could waltz into the near corner.

I ponder that question many times in our own games.

MC Hammer was dissapointed when he found out that Kevin Durant could touch this.

Jason Allen hasn't had any time to develop into an NFL CB

He’s been switched from safety to corner to safety to corner to special teams ace to safety to special teams ace to corner. He wins the starting corner spot from Sean Smith and starts ball hawking (yes he was intercepting balls like his mom was being held hostage). Then in the same season after a couple of blown coverages they just release him. Hm. I think it was another bonehead move by this inept front office to let a first round talent (yes he is a first round talent) slip away. Like all the other high draft picks Sparano has pissed all over.

Keep in mind, he was a rookie in 2006. The Dolphins went 6-10 that season. In his second season, the Dolphins went 1-15. This was under Nick Saban and Cam Cameron. One of those is a despicable human being, and the other is (arguably) a despicable head coach.

In my opinion, Jason Allen did a great job as a cornerback when he was on his feet. He fell down in a couple of CRUCIAL situations. But why isn’t Brian Hartline being released? He fell down on a curl route directly causing an interception. He’s also dropped numerous catchable passes (many of them perfectly placed). He’s been in the same position since his college days. And don’t get me started on Brandon Marshall. He’s not doing his job, and he’s making other people’s jobs harder.

The Dolphins invested a lot of money in Jason Allen. He was the 16th pick in his draft class. That’s some serious cheese. Maybe the problem with this team isn’t the players. 15 quarterbacks in a decade and we have more quarterback questions than about 27 teams in the NFL. I wish this organization would stop cutting players and start cutting themselves.

I was pissed when I found out that Jason Allen had been released.

How in the hell did Benny Sapp maintain a roster spot over him??

The problem is that even that’s happened a few times. Hell, we even have a new owner. Personally, I think we just need to rebuild the orange bowl…

"The first thing I do when I get out of bed and feel the jolt in my knees is think of Roy Winston. On the second step, my calcified Adam's apple starts bobbing, and I think of Carl Eller. A few more steps in the dark and it's Willie Lanier. By the time I get to the bathroom, I'm flashing back to Dick Butkus and Ray Nitschke. And when the light finally comes on, I just hope that somewhere in the darkness they're thinking of me, too" - Larry Csonka.

Allen is a better ST player and CB than Sapp

It is decisions like those and the fact that we have no identity other than the other team knowing that if they score 20 points, it’s a 90% chance, you will win.
