I acknowledge that I may be reading a little too much into this, but I am positive that if I am, you guys will have no problem letting me know.
Did anyone else find it telling that Sporano went out of his way to rave about the performance of Tyler Thigpen to the team after Sundays game, without as much as a mention of Chad Henne? He even presented Thigpen with the game ball. I am not, let me repeat, NOT taking anything away from Thigpen. In fact, I found his performance on Sunday to be Mariono Rivera-esque, in the way he came in late, and nailed the coffin shut. Not an easy thing to do, by any means. But I dont care if your a Henne detractor, or cheerleader, is there any denying that he probably had a really rough week last week? On Tuesday, he loses his starting job, and then has to spend the rest of the week taking backup reps? Love him or hate him, it could not have been easy for him to remain focused. And all he did when his number was called, just two plays into the game, is go out and deliver a very solid performance, and build up a lead against a top-level team. That showed grit, heart and professionalism.
So my point is this: Why not even a nod from the head coach? Am I over-analyzing this, or does this tell you that Sporano has a problem with Henne? Again, no problem with the acknowledgement of Thigpen, it just was a little telling to me that Henne was ignored. Thoughts?
