As we all know, yesterday's win came with a heavy price tag. But I think we all have seen flashes of Thiggy performing very well including yesterday and his ability to scramble and extend plays is something that can really help this offense. Now arguably our two best players got hurt yesterday but don't for one second count them out. Both finished the game eventhough their injuries happened during the 3rd quarter I believe. Wake came out and said he's fine and Long is probably the toughest SOB we have. If we can somehow manage to get through this Thursday game we have 10 days off to heal everyone and have our new QB's learn the offense.
Now we all know what Cutler is able to do but he also is the master of turnovers whether it be INTs or Fumbles. Chicago's O-line is awful, and even without Wake, we would be able to get constant pressure but i'll bet my life that he starts Thursday night and on top of it gets a few sacks. Had it been so serious he wouldn't have played the entire 4th quarter. Clemons was simply getting banged up a tad but had a rediculous hit on Moss that caused him to fumble (ruled a drop) so I expect him or Reshad Jones to be fine but I'm still hoping this team is grooming Jones as Yerehmiah Bell's replacement instead of competing with Clemons bc Clemons has really come into his own and started to develop into a good safety.
Now we definitely need Long this game as we are going up against one of the best DE's in Julius Peppers but last year Long held Peppers quiet the entire game and I expect the same to happen if he's in there. From everythign I read separated Shoulders can heal pretty much fully in 2 days for the average person and Long is not an avg person. Ochocinco had his shoulder popped into place during yesterdays game and was fine to finish it. Long is the toughest guy we have, period!
If we can pull out this game with a W...we have some very winnable games coming up vs Oakland and Clev at home. We win those and believe it or not but we are 8-4. Can't look ahead of Thursday but all I'm saying is if we can pull out a team effort and get a W, things will only get easier. This team is very mentally tough and won yesterday's game as a team on both sides of the ball for the first time all season.
