Here we go...

Hello fellow Fin fans, before I start this post, I would just like to say Happy Veterans Day to all of the soldiers out there.

Ok so yesterday we all discovered news that some of us have been dreading, and some of us have been wanting. Frankly I'm not here to discuss who is right and who is wrong in this move to start Pennington, but to all of those Thigpen lovers, I'm sorry but he's not the answer. Anyway, back to what I want to talk about. Fact of the matter is, I think coaches, players, and many fans are extremely looking at what is happening to us right now, and EXTREMELY overreacting. If you look at this schedule we had for these first 8 games: Bills, Vikings, Jets, Patriots, Packers, Steelers, Bengals, and Ravens, i would have loved the idea of being 4-4 through it before this season started. Let's go over the resume of some of these teams. Bills, well that is a given, and a win. The Vikings, yeah weren't they in the NFC championship game last year? Oh yeah we won that too. Jets, AFC championship game? Take it to the last drive depending on the arm of Chad Henne. The Patriots, 3 super bowl wins within the last 10 years. Special teams (enough said). Packers, one of the best teams in the NFL WITH arguably the best QB in the league, oh yeah we beat them in overtime right? We finished that game? Yeah i think we did. Steelers, 2 super bowl wins within the last 10 years, arguably the best defense in the league, and Big Ben was back. I don't care what the record says, we won that game, we beat the Steelers. Bengals, well quite frankly they suck this year, and we won with 5 field goals. Shows how good our defense held up against two big name receivers. And i come down to our second legitimate loss of the season, the Ravens. Let's face the facts, if the last game that was played before this week was the Steelers loss, we would have the same record, and the same quarterback right now. Look at that schedule one more time, and tell me that if you didn't think you would be happy with a 4-4 record at the beginning of the year. If you woudn't have been happy, then you are lying to yourself. Sparano and company have proven to be a second half team, not getting off to good starts. This year we got off to a good start, and I think that is what killed us. We get off to an 0-2 start, and then still end up 4-4, we're probably sitting here praising Chad Henne, not benching him. So I am going to leave it up to you guys to vote. Do you think that we're over-reacting, doing what is neccessary, or possibly even under-reacting (I really hope no one picks that after reading this). Let the Phinsider world know what you think.
