PEYTON MANNING WOULD NOT EXCEL WITH SPARANO AND HENNING !!!
I could not disagree more with sparano and ireland decision to bench HENNE. He has not looked great lately but look at some of the games Brees has had this year. This is simply a desperate measure to try to save sparanos job. They are not a superbowl calibre team yet. Sparano is trying to save himself. This teams failures are totally due to bad coaching and play calling. Did not agree with the direction of this years draft and last years draft was a disaster in pat white and patrick turner. We could have drafted Aaron hernandez. The play calling of this team is terrible. They are playing not to lose but that is exactly the opposite of what is happening. The dolphins will open some things up a bit more with veteran pennington and it could help but why not open it up with Henne. I am craving a championship as much as any dolfan out there but its not going to happen this year. I think the future was looking bright with HENNE, MARSHALL, BESS, HARTLINE, LONG and defense. I truly feel this team is a young running back and tight end away on offense to being really good. Henne will be forgotten now then he will go to another team and be a pro bowler all because sparano and ireland are trying to keep their jobs. Remember what mr. Ross said before season : chad henne will be better than dan marino and will be in superbowl this year. well maybe a year or two too soon but looks like that may never have the chance to develop now. I wonder how Mr. Ross feels about this move ?? thoughts anyone ???
And by the way, the way this offense is being ran right now i dont think peyton manning would look much better. Time for sparano and henning to hit the road !!!!!! Chad Henne i truly believe you will be a very good qb in this league and thanks to this staff it will probably be on another team !!!!

i think over the season we are down to 1 coach and 4 players. Thank god we are not worse than 4-4, or we’d have to start executing them too.

Some people post comments (me and most everyone else)
And some people feel the need for fan posts. Live and let live, I say, but you get a REC.
Dan Marino (13) and Steve Nash (13) will go down in history as being the greatest passers to never win the last game of the season.
I don't mind people posting comments.
It’s absolutely the negative, impatient, cut throat nature of so many of them that bother me. One of them said Dansby should be dropped for heavens sakes.
It's the excessive fan posts I'm annoyed by (was that what you meant?)
Repeating stuff that eveyrone has been commenting about.
Drop Dansby, LOL. I missed that one, and thank God. I hope someone lit him up for it.
Dan Marino (13) and Steve Nash (13) will go down in history as being the greatest passers to never win the last game of the season.
disagree
i believe manning would have a great career with what he would be given and besides he would call his own plays and audibles
Exactly what I came here to say.
“He’d call his own plays and audibles”
I’d love to watch Henning try and stop him.
Dan Marino (13) and Steve Nash (13) will go down in history as being the greatest passers to never win the last game of the season.
Manning would be coaching the team himself by now
And we’d be probably 7-1. The guy’s an all time great.
Look, I get what you’re saying about the play calling, but putting P. Manning and Henne in the same sentence is ludicrous. One is one of the most accurate and intelligent QBs of all time and a leader to boot, the other is none of those things.
Why is Peyton Manning using a Spreadsheet....
Thats what I want to know….
"The People's Poster"
"Sig me, thats what I want – Thigpen will be a good QB, a better qb than HENNE!" - E_Dove 11/10/2010......I COMPLETELY DISAGREE... But we Shall See....
Colts fan here, obviously
and I gotta disagree with you. Given the weapons the Dolphins have on Offense I think Peyton would have a pretty successful stay. He could make me pro bowl receiver. Ever heard of Jacob Tamme? No? Not a lot of people have. He’s the Colts 2nd string TE who hardly sees the field because of Dallas Clark. Now that Clark is gone, Tamme has 17 catches for 172 yards and 2 TD’s.
Like many of your fellow Dolphin fans have pointed out, Manning is a coach on the field. He is allowed to call plays he think will help put the Colts in the best position to score according to what he sees from the Defense.

ill take a "washed up" ocho as my second wr opposite of Brandon Marshall
anyday of the week…he can still stretch the field on every play and is the reason TO is not seeing any double teams bc they double ocho every play.
No way
TO is the #1 option right now. No team is doubling Ocho. We didn’t double him once. He’s not even trying that hard this season. He’s had one decent game all season. He’s nowhere near the WR he was a few seasons ago. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Bengals cut him after the season.

TO is having a resurrection
I’m simply amazed, but I’m not surprised.
Dan Marino (13) and Steve Nash (13) will go down in history as being the greatest passers to never win the last game of the season.
That will happen
when you have 2 guys of their caliber on the same team. You can’t stop them both, you just have to hope you can keep them under control. It was the same with Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. When Marvin was around, Wayne got the ball a lot. Now that Marvin is gone, Peyton uses people like Garcon and Collie and Wayne doesn’t get a ton of catches like he use to.

I watched the last Bengals game
He is still getting doubled a fair amount. Problem with Ocho is instead of TO opening it up for him its been the other way around.

I think he is a great WR
and if he would give up all the semantics, I would welcome him to the Colts in a heartbeat. I also follow him on Twitter and he is a really cool dude. But, like I said, he comes with too much on field issues for the Colts. The Colts pride themselves on ‘quiet strength’ and Chad is the complete opposite. Do the Colts have their issues? Sure. Im sure you all heard about out punter getting drunk and taking a dip in the dirtiest water canal in Indianapolis, but the Colts dealt with the issue and suspended him even though they didn’t have to.

Manning would excel with me as the coach
Imagine if he ever played with an elite WR, no disrespect to Harrison, But Manning made him great, the same with dallas clark and everyone else, the only guy Manning ever played with that has Pro Bowl Talent is Reggie Wayne.

SETTING STRAIGHT !!
listen i created this post. i know henne is no manning and i know manning calls his own plays. i also am aware of the weapons the dolphins have. that is not what i am saying here. i was referring to the play calling. it is way to conservative. with the play calling going on there is little room for success especially in the red zone. look at what the eagles did against colts sunday. they ran a reverse two plays in a row with great success while henning will call for wildcat run up the middle on third and 8. its crazy. possibly the manning comment was a little much but henne has not been given much of a chance. look at the play calling in the last drive against steelers. enough said.
I would use someone besides Manning
if you are complaining about the conservative play calling. Because, again, as you and a few others have mentioned, Manning calls his own plays. He runs the show. The OC calls plays in, but if Manning sees something in the defense, he can audible out and call something else to get the success.
The Eagles success was much do to injury and poor play by the depleted Colts defense. I’m amazed the Colts were up at halftime and were in position to win at the end. Either the Eagles are that bad, or the Colts bench is that good.

You are right the playcalling
is questionable. But this staff sees alot more of Henne then we do. They had some faith in him because he started the season even though he was out played in the preseason. But at this point, you have to make a decision to win or to continue to develop a player that does not seem to be progressing like he should. They have decided to try and win.
I understand the complaints about the Playcalling I really do, but Henne is part of the problem too. He really does have fundamental problems that go beyond the plays called. We really should have seen more from him even under the current OC. Henne is not blameless in this situation he is not a victim.
If Henne is really going to be something in this league this will not hurt him, if anything it may be a blessing rather then languishing as an average QB that was handed a starting job. Perhaps this will give him drive to push over the hump he seems to be stuck at and strive to earn the spot and excel.

Henne into the future like that - good grief.

flacco then
joe flacco has had really bad game or two this yr. if i recall he had a four pick game. but look at the dolphins game. ravens threw deep balls and dolphins zero. play calling way too conservative. the game plan this staff runs better suites pennington because he can probably better manage game with their 5 yd passes all day but they are killing the development of this talented young qb. dolphins will not make playoffs. next yr. i want chucky or cowher. the league is changing into passing league and dolphins are not changing with it. we messed up by not bringing in randy moss. marshall, bess and moss for next three or four years with henne and different offensive coordinator then we would be going places. so for now all us dolphins fans have to settle for mediocre just like the last 20 yrs.
Flacco
makes mistakes but he also makes passes that Henne seems to struggle with. Ravens used to be very conservative with Flacco, but he for the most part had showed he can be a bigger asset. But he showed that under what had been a more restrictive offense. He showed growth, Henne appears to stay the same week after week if not get worse at times.

Another big difference
Offensive Coordinator! C’mon people if we haven’t figured out that Henning needs to go by now then there are some serious perception issues!!!

What makes the difference between Flaco, Matt Ryan, Sanchez, etc V.S Henne is..
That they have shown real sparks of talent. That’s the reason why they keep them and their fan base dont want to cut them cause they know that at some point that sparks of talent would be consistent enough to make a Super Bowl run. Yes, Flaco had a bad game but he also had some real good games look vs Cleveland he made 3 TDs 262 Yds 0 INts 0 sacks 128.7 QB rate and 71% of completition. And before anyone say “it’s the Browns” Well what about the Bills that Henne faced? not really good at all 0 TDs 3 sacks 0 Ints 78 QB rate and the BEST game of Henne this year was vs Vikes 60.0 completition 114Yds 1 TD 0 INT 2sacks 106.0 QB . So that the best you can expect from him right now. That’s the reason many people don’t think Henne is the answer and that’s why many are not willing to take loses for that kind of potential, And even if you bring the “it” factor Henne lacks from it. He dosen’t look sharp or confident or in rythm or being leader of the offense etc, etc, etc But Matt Ryan, Flacco and (even Sanchez) had that look when they are at the field. It’s sad? Yes, but lets keep moving forward and minimize the damage. Time is money lets look some where else for the answer instead of wasting more time.

TROUBLE !
If dolphins do move on and feel henne is not the answer this franchise is in serious trouble. at end of season they will have no qb no running back and awful tight end. maybe a lock out will be good for dolphins. i am a die hard fan. i am also getting very impatient. it is yr after yr of regression and let downs. dolphins are very conservative on offense and have been for yrs as they have been on offensive roster also. why not get randy moss. he was the spark this team needs not chad pennington.
You Said It!!!!
No QB is going to do well with the Miami coaches. Most of the high school coaches where I lived could plan against their tendenacies. The Miami coaching staff needs to read Pat Kirwan’s book and get a clue about not being so predictable with their play calling.
by Steel714 on Nov 11, 2010 1:22 AM EST reply actions 1 recs
Youve solved it!
Pat Kirwan’s book. Get a copy to Tony right away.
Superbowl here we come.
I didnt read any of the post.. or comments.. so if someone else already said it then sorry for saying it again..
Put Henne on the Colts and they would not be the team that they are with Manning either. Henne is no where even close to the talent of Manning.. not even the same ball park.. or even the same sport really. Mannings tallent, anticipation, being able to see a play heppening b4 the ball is snaped is what makes the Colts so good. Henne would look even more lost if he was running the colts offense and none of the receivers there would look nearly as good as they do with Manning. Want prroof? Just look at Marshall and how his season is going with Henne throwing him the ball.
Henne needs to step up
B Marshall + B Hartline D Bess = The 2nd comming of The Killer B's MPF 04/17/10
If I took the time to check for errors I would forget what I was trying to say! Deal !
I suppose once Pennington starts
We’ll see how much is to blame on Henne and how much is to blame on the coaching staff. If he succeeds, it was on Henne, if he struggles, coaching, this was a smart test to run by the coaches to find the real problem.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
Disagree
I disagree because CP10 fits much better into Henning’s offense so surely it will be a good fit. However the problem with this is we will only win games and be a good team with Henning versus a great team that wins Championships!
by usnavydolphan on Nov 11, 2010 7:59 AM EST up reply actions
If you say so
Not sure where you are getting that from though, because I don’t see anything from Henne yet saying he’s good enough to take us to the playoffs let alone a championship.

Peyton would do just fine. He would just say, "I'm Payton Manning so I am going to pick my own plays no matter what you say"
That would be funny though because he would change every single call that Henning would make
In Pat we Trust
"Sorry if everyone thought we were going to go 82-0" - Dwyane Wade
"A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore." - Yogi Berra
Of course the current Manning would be fine here
Ross would allow him to murder people, and probably help him cover it up. But Young-Manning would be stifled, and wither.
Here's to Luck and Harbaugh bringing their talents to South Beach in 2011.
