Expectations for the Rest of Miami's season...?
Like virtually everyone not presently under a rock knows, Miami is going into the bye week on the heels of two straight home losses to division rivals....NY & NE.
No need for a football Ph.D. to see where, how, and what Miami has struggled with so far this season. You figure the two weeks with the bye give the coaches time if they want to make tactical changes and/or alter their schemes.
Here's what I want to ask you and I mean in a perfectly sensible, no knee-jerk manner....
What do you expect from here on out for Miami's season?Have the first 4 games changed your outlook for Miami at all?
What do you expect in terms of wins/losses?
Is a playoff spot in the cards?
What will Henne's play be like?
Will we still be left bemoaning our special teams breakdowns months from now?

I am more optimistic...
GB struggled with Detroit this weekend…we have 2 weeks to unscrew ourselves. ST change…Henne more reps…get Odrick back so Starks can go back to NT. NT has struggled because Solai isnt ready for all game…solid backup, but Starks was better when he could come out a few to rest, and Odrick looked good. I see it as..
GB – Win
Pitt – Loss
Cin – Win
Balt – Loss
Tenn – Win
Chi – Win
Oak – Win
Cle – Win
NYJ – Win (I believe we will figure that out)
Buf – Win
Det – Win
NE – Win (replace our ST…we could have won last night)
Yes, I am being very optimistic…but this team has the talent…just needs the mindset, some confidence, a change in ST, and support.
You are too optimistic
But somehow strangely I agree with you on alot of this
But Henne needs to stop starring down DBs!!!!!

optomistic, but....
i can see something close to that…. I think flip GB and PIT. I do not think the last NE game will be a win…. but i do think a win against the jets will happen.
I think 9-7 this season just missing playoffs. I think coaching and offensive line is going to be a struggles… i do not expect special teams to get much better but I think they will adjust and will prevent such mistakes we’ve seen last night.
Let me stress though….. that this season by no means is over….. there is plenty of time to make up lost ground and who knows…. NE and NY may run into struggles during the season as well. Are team needs to keep there heads held high and focus on them and not get too carried away with where they stand within the division until we face them again…. keep supporting these guys as the season is still young.
I think we match up well against Pitt and Balt
So let’s not write these games off.
It’s early, but we’ve learned a lot. We’re not the team we thought we might be. Henne is frankly poor at the moment – no touch, no awareness, stares down his receivers, no chemistry except with Bess last night. The coaching has been poor, except on Defence.
I thought we’d finish 10-6 and make the playoffs. That’s still possible. More likely, now, is 8-8 and miss the playoffs.
I don’t mind so much about the results as long as we’re progressing. We’re not progressing anymore. Our O-Line is in constant upheaval, our run game is going backwards, we don’t have an elite QB or an elite defence. We are very far from an elite team, and it’s hard to see where we can improve in the next few weeks – we are who we are.
GB will beat us, but we’ll get a close one to raise hopes again. Then, because we have no ‘quick-strike’, ‘big-play’ ability, we’ll let a bad team hang around in the second half of the season, they’ll beat us and that’ll be it. That’s my prediction.
what games are you watching???
“Henne, No Touch”??? He’s added much more touch than what he had last season. The other things you mentioned… yes, could need some work but nothing that can’t be addressed during the bye week..
what i expect
1. Henne will continue tto slowly and methodically improve, with an occasional fall back game like last nite (2 redzone TO)
2. our run game will continue to be inconsistent
3. Y. Bell will miss a critical 3rd down tackle at least once a week
4. jason allen will take a tumble
5. We will continue to use Marshall sporadically and he will struggle all yr trying to find his place in this offense.
6. our D-line will miss Fergie all yr, odrick and crowder will help but teams will still run on us all yr
7. Vontae and wake will finally be recognized as premiere players at their position
8. special teams…… oh why even bother….next….
9. we will scratch and claw to get back in the playoff hunt, we will probably even win at New England in the final game but we will be eliminated due to conference or division record and fall just short.

we will end up 8-8 maybe 9-7

Added a poll with options...
by all means, please do sound off on why we are 2-2 and coming off a rubbish showing
im not surprised
I was very hopeful after the first 2 games Miami could win these crucial AFC games but I guess Miami’s players didn’t get the memo as to how important these games were to any hope of a divisional title this year.

Could be as good as 12-4 or as bad as 6-10..it really could go either way..
I really believe that.. we CAN play to that level and potential.. but last night shows we can play down quite a ways too..

OK I'm starting to come back from the edge of the cliff now
We all said that after 8 games if we come out at 4-4 we would be in good shape. I still believe that and think it is entirely possible to come out 4-4. These last two games hurt, no doubt about it. We have put ourselves at a big disadvantage by losing 2 division games. I think the defense can right itself, I worry about the offense because of the lack of a consistent running game. Special teams I don’t even want to talk about. It’s all about blocking and tackling, basic football. It’s hard for me to believe that an athlete can get this far and not know how to do that.
