An apology from Carl Johnson (VP of officials) and Gene Steratore to the Miami Dolphins team, fans, and the rest of the NFL will be greatly appreciated. A cover up and negligence to do nothing to ensure bad calls from not effecting the game will be a failure to the entire league. This should not be taken lightly. I would like a full report from each referee's view made public to the fans of what they think happened on the controversial play. I would like to know why Gene Steratore the head referee was already explaining the play as players were trying to recover the fumble. As seen here
I would like to know why head linesman Jerry Bergman (the main one guilty) didn't let the play play it's self out and called a TD immediately on a close play. As seen in the picture two referees were in the pile. I especially want to know their views of what happen and why they apparently had no say in the play.
This was a big mistake made that most likely effected the out come of this game. Again, that was the failure by the ref's to not let the play, play itself out on a close call. The referees should never become the story of the game. Unfortunately they failed to do their job and became the story. All we want is an apology and measurements taken to ensure this doesn't happen to any team.
Sincerely
A NFL Fan
To the phinsiders I highly doubt they do anything. But it would be nice to see them hold themselves accountable and take some kind of action. Yes we left a lot of points on the field but this call still effected the game.
