During this bye week I just got tired of all the heat and hate throw to Henne, until the season is over we should not make any conclusions. But people loves to do so and many times with not enough data to support their comments.
One of the focal points for Henne and Henning criticism (kudos to Henning after this research, but I'm still not satisfied with his overall job). Was he does not have enough 20+ yards passes.
Well after looking the game (I did watch it today morning 6:00 AM, I almost crap my PJs when tied at the end of the 4th) I kept hearing this "there goes a 19yds pass from Henne", "Marshall caught it for 19yds"
So I decided I will take a deeper look at Henne completions through the season and look for almost 20yds passes.
What I found was this:
Against the Bills:
- 1 pass for 17 yds
Against Minny:
- 1 pass for 19 yds
Against Jests:
- 2 passes of 17 yds
- 2 passes of 18 yds
- 1 pass of 19 yds
Against NE:
- 3 passes of 19 yds (1 was nullified by penalty)
Againts GB:
- 1 pass for 18 yds
- 3 passes for 19 yds
So I know the importance of A yard, ask Minny when we beat 'em. But stats wise Henne has thirteen 17+ yds passes furthermore from those 7 gone 19 yds. Are you following me in this? The guy certainly can manage 20 yds passes and the deep ball. But must of the time is just about when the WR is down.
Hope I gave you some food for thought and lets start getting the home record straight from this week on.
