3-2

This was a big win on the road and I know Dolphin fans out there are excited, but we still gotta put things in perspective.

Pass Rush

I always believed given the opportunity, Cameron Wake would become an elite pass rusher. His 3 sack performance just put his season total to 6 sacks. He's only 2.5 sacks behind the league leader in Clay Matthews (Who didn't play this week). Injuries have taken it's toll on this team, but even when healthy this is a bad offensive line. Not to mention Wake racked up all his sacks on a rookie tackle in Brian Bulaga, who had no help. This bad offensive line trend will continue with the Steelers next week as well. So if Wake keeps it up he will be leading the league in sacks in no time.

Passing Game

Continuing the injury trend, Charles Woodson (Mr. DPOY himself) came into the game with a toe injury. I'm guessing that's the reason why he wasn't on Marshall all game. If he continues to put up the numbers like he did today, then I could care less if any other receiver produces. But that's not realistic. That was evident in the New England game when they held Marshall in check. Luckily Davone Bess came through big, but we can't expect our passing game to rely on the shoulders of Bess alone. Against the Packers Marshall had 7 catches for 102 yards in the 1st half, but only 3 catches for 25 yards in the 2nd half. It would also be nice to see if Marlon Moore or Roberto Wallace can stretch the field, because this receiving core lacks a vertical presence.

Secondary

So far Yeremiah Bell has had a disappointing season compared to his last couple of years. The secondary as a whole has been a big surprise this year (good and bad). Who would've thought Jason Allen would replace Sean Smith in the starting lineup (not to mention leading the team in picks) and Bell would be as disappointing as he has been. A lot of people have been on and off about Allen's play, but I think he's doing a decent job. Say what you want but it could be a lot worse. And I wouldn't be so sure to say that Sean Smith would play any better. In limited playing time Smith has looked average at best and down on confidence.

Special teams

It's nice to see special teams win us a game for a change. It's also nice to see Patrick Cobbs on the bench when the kick return unit is on the field. Cobbs is a nice guy an all but he and Davone Bess shouldn't be returning kicks. Nolan Carroll is a way better option, and he at least brought some excitement to the return game.
