Why the Phinsider?
Hello Phinsider faithful! This post is only slightly Dolphins related, but is more geared towards this blog and other SB Nation blogs you follow.
I am doing a current events presentation in a Social Media course at college, and I have decided to explain the merits of SB Nation as a whole and for myself in particular The Phinsider. I have a lot to say myself, but I feel like you can all help me.
I can talk about why I feel SB Nation is a superb forum for sports fans, but I think my presentation will hold more weight if I also bring in thoughts from you the community. So if you want to help out a fellow phinfan, leave me a few comments about why you come to the Phinsider (or other SB Nation Blogs), what works for you, what doesn't, and what makes it better than other sports sources.
Thanks guys.

Simple really
Matty (and others) do a awesome job of posting well written articles to read about our favorite team even when there is little to no news to write about. But what really makes the Phinsider work?
The Dolphin fans. Devoted fans. Fans who like sharing, talking, doing anything that has something to the with the Miami Dolphins. And sometimes even beyond, like CKC.
Fans, devoted, committed, joined together with one purpose in mind, to see the Miami Dolphins win. Even though we sometimes have different opinions on how to get that done, we aren’t afraid to speak our mind.
This place is literally the online sports bar of the Miami Dolphins. We come here to read and talk about Fin stuff and sometimes just BS. To hang out.
Hat tip to Matty for making it possible. And a hand shake (and to some a pimp slap) to the fans who do the same.

Exactly what I had in mind ^
Oh and may I add one more, I come because of the community. People here all lend a hand to eachother wether it’s by Neo helping you or by people giving away tickets. It’s like a jumbo cyber family. You just don’t see that anymore.

All of the above complements my feelings as well, but the phinsider to me is a nation of
different colors, races, and creeds that when they meet, they all one thing in common, they all love the dolphins. No matter how opinions are stated and heated, I always know that their posts emanates for their love of the fins and shows how they deal with wins and losses. Bottom line, that is what makes us a strong nation and that is what keeps us family. A toast to the Fam.

It provides the "Sports brotherhood" I never enjoy...
Because I live in North Jersey, there are very, VERY few other Dolphins fans that I know. In fact, most of my buddies are Jets fans, so its really difficult to have a decent conversation about the team. Also, because of the area, the team gets almost no press coverage here, so I like that I come here for not only information on the team, but lively and informed conversation with other Dolphin fans. The contributors (Matty, Mosul, Et al) provide coverage that mixes objective team information, with genuine passion for the team, and the game itself. Its like a support group for football addicts…
I like The Phinsider because it doesn't suck.

I think "The Phinsider" provides the perfect mix of people to talk to about our beloved Dolphins...
You see all types of opinions, facts I would’ve never found on my own, history, and you even can talk straight football talk about formations, personnel, and what not. Matty does an awesome job at creating an open forum environment, and Leftcoast, Nicky, and Mosul definitely add to that with their different styles of presenting topics. You get it all here what can I say.

I have been here posting for about 1 1/4 yrs. I read the FP articles for about a year before.
I have been a Phin fan since Christ was a Corporal, but the amount of knowledge about the game and individual players that I have picked up here is unreal. The fans here are truly passionate, diverse and extremely knowledgeable. The in-depth postings, FP and contributing writers AND just plain old everyday fans are amazing. You cannot get that from any of the paid media. I do not think they look deep enough or analyze at all like is done here.
Oh yeah, and the camaraderie here is fabulous!
That’s why I come here.

I like the fact...
…that I’m a Patriots fan and I have easy access to a rival team’s blog and can join conversations with a click of a button. SB Nation is easy to use and there is no better community of sports fans on the internet- and the fact that every fan has a “home base” to hang out at and has the ability to go to another team’s base is just gravy.
I agree with you, RH.

There you have it Dolphinfanatic
Smart thinking on your part to ask the actual readers and Dolphin Faithful! Love the site’s ease of use and that fans from all walks of life can have a say. Seems, even in the off season you can still find something here.
I, also go to the Miami Herald.com, Sun Sentenial.com. Yahoo/Fox and CBS Sports.com, NFL.com, FinSiders.com, Miami Dolphins.com, Bleacher Reports.com and ESPN.com, as well as several other websites. But I always come here first. It has a user friendly format. I like all aspects of the information I get here. They even have a sense of humor at times.
And like some fans, I live no where near my favorite team so any news I can get here is good news. I’ve been coming here for about a year now, and will continue to do so. Thanks for asking. And thanks to all that make this the place to come to for all things, Dolphin!
Presentation Complete
And your comments made my job way easier. Thanks for all the help!

I visit SB Nation blogs because they're linked directly from Yahoo!
I’m not going to lie about it, that’s the only reason I ever found these blogs. Now I stay because the bloggers who post to the main page do a great job (here and on Fishstripes). The reason I come though is because it was easily integrated into my established home page and web-based email pages.
I got here by merely typing in Dolphis Blog
I stay here because of the ease of links to other articles, and occasional fanposts that make me think.
glad to hear you can think FF
