Mid-Season look at some Late Round RBs
This is more of a continuation of the posts I did before the season started. There are a lot more of these later round guys than there were bedfore the season. FYI: Evan Royster was originally a 3rd RDer, but he is haing a very bad year and has dropped 2 rounds. On the flip side, Mikel Leshoure has exploded from obscurity and is now rated the third best RB in this draft class.
A lot of these guys are Juniors and that means we don't know if they will declare or not. The stats are from ESPN.com
Vondrell McGee, RB, Texas
Height: 5-10. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.44.
Projected Round (2011): 7-FA.
3/29/10: Rushed for 300 yards on 56 carries (5.4 YPC) as a junior. Also caught eight passes.
8/6/09: Didn't see much action as a sophomore (376 rushing yards, nine receptions), but he'll get more playing time now with several 2008 running backs gone.

There are no college highlights available. But, he is a Senior, so he will be in this draft class.
Da'Rel Scott, RB, Maryland
Height: 5-11. Weight: 200.
Projected 40 Time: 4.39.
Projected Round (2011): 7-FA.
3/29/10: Missed time with a wrist injury. Playing in only seven games, Da'Rel Scott rushed for 425 yards on a 5.0 YPC. He also had 12 catches for 101 more yards.
8/6/09: Another Maryland player with blazing speed, Da'Rel Scott rushed for 1,133 yards and eight touchdowns in 2008. He also chipped in with 21 receptions. Scott handled kickoff return duties as a freshman, but didn't score any touchdowns. Dropping his stock a bit, Scott was suspended for a game last year.

No fumbles, this guy has really good ball control apparently.
Darren Evans**, RB, Virginia Tech
Height: 6-0. Weight: 210.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52.
Projected Round (2011): 5-7.
3/29/10: Tore his ACL in September.
8/6/09: Took over as Virginia Tech's starting running back as a true freshman a few games into the 2008 campaign. Darren Evans finished with 1,265 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes.

No Fumbles either. Ryan Williams has taken over this offense, but Evans was great as a freshman. I think Evans could be a steal.
Third Down Backs
Jeff Demps, RB, Florida
Height: 5-8. Weight: 183.
Projected 40 Time: 4.25.
Projected Round (2012): 2-3.
7/26/10: Will be drafted as an offensive playmaker; Jeff Demps and his 4.25 40-yard time rushed for 745 yards and seven touchdowns in 2009 on just 99 carries.

I think he will stay another year at UF, so his numbers can increase with a overall better offense.
Ralph Bolden, RB, Purdue
Height: 5-9. Weight: 194.
Projected 40 Time: 4.49.
Projected Round (2012): 7-FA.
7/26/10: Ralph Bolden had a great season (935 rushing yards, 4.7 average, 20 catches), but suffered a major knee injury in spring practices. Bolden had ACL surgery on the same knee a few years ago.
| Stats Overview | Rushing | Receiving | Fumbles | |||||||||

Can anyone find 2010 stats? He is a Junior, might stay in college, but looks like what you'd want in a 3rd down back, at least when it comes to the combine type stuff
Isaiah Pead, RB, Cincinnati
Height: 5-10. Weight: 193.
Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
Projected Round (2012): 4-5.
7/26/10: Isaiah Pead impressively rushed for 806 yards and nine touchdowns on a 6.7 YPC. He also caught 20 passes for 201 receiving yards.

No FUMs. Having a great year. Might come out this year, but he might not. Depends if he thinks he is worth more than a 4th/5th.
Victor Anderson, RB, Louisville
Height: 5-9. Weight: 185.
Projected 40 Time: 4.48.
Projected Round (2012): 6-7.
7/26/10: Victor Anderson played in only eight games because of a shoulder injury, but rushed for 473 yards on a 5.3 YPC. He caught 12 balls for 89 receiving yards.

Injury hampered 2009 stats, that is good and bad.
Brandon Saine, RB, Ohio State
Height: 6-1. Weight: 217.
Projected 40 Time: 4.40.
Projected Round (2011): 5-7.
3/29/10: Brandon Saine rushed for 739 yards (5.1 YPC) and caught 17 passes for 224 more yards in his first year without Chris Wells on the roster.
Good size, but seems to be a better pass catcher than pure RB.

We defintly need a running back i went over to Walterfootball.com
and they have us taking Brandon Harris, CB, Miami. That would be awesome he’s like another Vontae sorta, our lineup would be Davis, Harris, Allen, Smith, Allen, Sapp. We would have amazing depth but i rather have Ryan Williams from Virgina Tech.

have you ever seen Harris play? I’m guessing no, because If you did you would never draw that comparison

I'd rather have a running back...
but its still too early for the draft. who knows where we will end up in the draft order..we could end up high enough to take Ingram. Personally I think he will fall because of the non need to draft a RB of the teams that will most likely be cellar dwellers..especially the raiders, rams, bills, chargers, jags, titans, possibly the browns, panthers, or the skins. He could fall into double digits

If Leshoure is available in the 20s next draft bring him home.
I got it wrong Tebow was a 1st rounder... Mau you won on this one... Damn!
Evans and Demps
I’d take a real hard look at. Evans was a star before he got hurt last season, and Ryan Williams stepped in as the starter. Demps would be a great fit as a 3rd down back and a kickoff/punt returner.
Eddie V
Hopefully, we'll have the last pick in the 1st round
But if not, if we can land Ingram, he will be my pick, he is man amongst boys on the college stage, but if not Ingram, I did rather have a game changing safety or corner with a rb coming in the round 3(best available).
