Mardy Gilliard

This isn't a post saying that we should draft him or some stupid post liek that it's just a little scouting report and since someone asked me to do a post on him. Info after the Jump...

Star-divide

Mardy Gilyard Cincinnati (WR)

6-0, 187Ibs

Mardy Gilyard is a projected third rounder to many scouts, his best season came as a junior in which he caught 81 passes for 1,276 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. My opinion is he is going to be a great pickup in the third or fourth round, some people are saying he is the best reciever in the class as he is indeed a great play maker. In the sugar bowl he was supposedly shut down only getting 7 receptions for 41 yards; longest being 12. I also noticed that even though  he's not afraid to go down the middle he rarely had to do it, kind of worries me a little. What are people saying:

"This guy is hands down the best talent at WR in this draft class, but he'll get looked over because he lacks the size pro scout look for but i have two words for that, DESEAN JACKSON, he's a slightly slower but slightly thicker version of Jackson. A some GM is going to regret passing on him in the first round. He's no question a first round talent but like Jackson he'll slip to the second round. Top 10 talent!"

"Same size and ability as Chad Johnson, love his talent."

"teams will sleep on him
will be a steal for someone
one of my favorite players in college
i see some of the desean jackson comparisons but jacksons skinnier and a lil faster."

"Late second round pick. Reminds me a lot of Percy Harvin only taller with better hands. Needs to work on his routes but that should not be a problem when he starts working with NFL coaches. Speed is fantastic, he can make anyone miss in the open field. He is a sleeper because he was off the radar playing for Cincinatti. Could turn into a very solid number 2 receiver."

Here's some highlights:

And just to show the sweet side of Mardy Gilyard:

He looks good...

but if we’re gonna pick up a WR, we have to go for Dez Bryant. If Dez is taken, I wouldn’t mind Gilliard in the 2nd.

Thanks for getting this posted

I believe this kid will be a player. I do not think we pick him but I will hold some hope we do in the 3rd. He is a fighter in the good way.

Hes another ted ginn

we need a real number one. Dezmon Briscoe has a better chance of being that guy than mardy gilyard. but i still think we should go with dez bryant.

Love this kid. If he could put up some more weight he could be something.

He might become a #1 by his second year. I would go after him because he has that sign of being in the fourth or even sixth round cause he’s not your Madden type #1 WR.

I would LOVE it if the Dolphins were able to get him in the 2nd round

McClain in the first, then Gilyard in the second would be a GREAT start for the draft!!!

I think that is a luxury pick. We need fefensive players. But I hope the Trifecta will make a move to get extra picks.

Just posted today:

“The receiver who showed some inconsistencies today was Cincinnati’s Mardy Gilyard. He struggled to locate the football times and avoided contact. On tape I see he’s scared to go over the middle and with his frame (179 pounds) he needs to prove that he plays bigger than he is. Draftniks seem to be torn on him – you love Gilyard or hate him. I personally don’t like him very much.”
