Miami Dolphins hire Mike Nolan as new defensive coordinator

[Editor's Note by Matty I: First off, thanks to Nicky for posting this while I was at my "real job." Secondly, I'll have a post up shortly that focuses on the Nolan hire. And finally, thanks to all those who visited the site today and posted their thoughts. Tuesday will go down as the second most trafficked day in Phinsider history - only behind day one of last April's NFL Draft.]

Just saw it on profootballtalk.com 2 minutes ago, Jay Glazer of FOX is reporting that the Dolphins have signed Mike Nolan to be their new defensive coordinator, replacing the recently fired Paul Pasqualoni.

It took all of just one day after he and Denver Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels mutually agreed to "part ways," for the Dolphins to move in and scoop up a replacement DC.  Nolan runs the 3-4, so I believe any type of switch to a 4-3 is now out of the question.
