Maybe it was just a fluke year since the head coach said he didn’t really care for him and moved him to the third wideout at the beginning of the season. Then he got Hurt and missed 4 games for a capstar type use.

though he has smarts and athelicism to play SSLB. Funny though Wake is talked about as a WSLB like Porter truth is he is listed on the depth chart as backup to JT at SSLB. Nicky this changes the needs of his growth true?

This is a tough one
I think we may be stuck with porter for at least another year for pure financial reasons. If we let him go the penalties are in the few millions. Some team would have to pay that note and that is asking alot. His contract is just too lofty. :(
But Parcells has no love for 32 year old linebackers so maybe we will just take the hit and pay it ourselves. Doubt it but who know. Change is good and as out front office changes so does our strategy. So who knows.
To our advantage Porter is still a limited playmaker and has some benefits in certain situations. He certainly is not worth his contract but that damage is done.
With exception of this potential draft Torbor and Anderson are who we need to step up. They have a nice LB coach now and maybe they can make a charge to stay on the field. If so next season Porter’s penalty will drop by about half. Then I see him gone.

Correct for the time being
They still technically have time to meet and set up a new CBA in time for the 2010 season. I could really see the NFLPA making a strong push to get this done as it might screw some players outta their beefy contracts w/o the penalties so teams will be more cut happy in an effort to either save money or make room for the next capped season.
But do you think there is any chance that it gets done by the deadline (March 1st)?
I think is a safe assumption that this will not happen. The season ends the first part of Feb and there are way too many issues on the table to hammer out in less than a month.

I think there may be a lot of cleaning house around the league. Every team has
guys like this that make more than what the give. I can see a situation where the market becomes flooded with these kind of guys. You may be able to pick up a savy veteral that can help you somewhere for a few more years at a nice discount.

there was definitely some drama
during the season what with Sparano’s decision in one of the games.
how much more happen or more accurately what went into that seems to have been kept pretty airtight.
does this guy know something we don’t? porter didn’t wow anyone last year on the field and i wonder if some of his antics and hence his act, are wearing thin.
given that we might well get a LB early in next year’s draft, it could be JP’s swan song.
