Forget Marshall..Save the $$ for Wilfork

Like I've said numerous times, I want Brandon Marshall and think his talent is tops in the league with Andre Johnson, Fitz, and Calvin...but, if we have a chance to take that money and go get a guy like Vince Wilfork in the middle of our 3-4 for the next 6 years or so, I can't see how we can even question who would be more valuable. With Wilfork and say drafting Mcclain, this defense instantly becomes top 10. The main issue with this I feel is to get rid of Wilson because he's taking up too much cap room. I'm not sure how much he is going to get paid next year should he be on the team the entire year but i know he got 8 million this year and thats way too much.

We cut Wilson and Porter.. Resign Jason Taylor, draft an ILB and OLB and develop our young corners and Wake with Wilfork and we have one hell of a defense. For Safety, I personally never see an issue when Culver comes in and I know Clemons has talent but is a little raw. Should one of them be able to do well I think this would really work out.

One, WIlfork would provide more pressure on the QB without blitzing, and having Wake and Taylor on the outsides and Stark with Wilfork on the inside is pretty lethal. With a new ILB that can conver, we'll be able to be more effective against rb's and te's in the passing game and obviously be upgraded in the running game because the guy eats running backs, just look at this stomach, there has to be atleast a couple of them in there as is. It's been reported he would like to play home, and with the max signing being 30% above what he's making now I think it should be something we need to look into. The only problem is I don't remember Parcells wanting to go out and sign the big names too often. But this guy I think is an exception of someone you can't really pass up.
