Can't say i'm too happy with this list... since things are just a little out of wack... they'll need more than 7 D-line for practice

reps, especially when fergie doesn't practice every down..

I really do think kershaw made the team, but i have no idea where to cut... which is a good problem.

the O-line is TERRIBLE once you get past the first 6 maybe 7... there will have to be some roster chumming here or the need for a lot of prayer, because this is the spot of the largest drop off between the front liners and the back ups... there is once guy who really is a practice squader gardner, one guy who is lucky to be on the team frye, a career back up in berger and a 27 year old project in murphy.... i'm not sure one of them is ready to be a starter if called upon.

I hate cutting maybe the best special teams player in walden - when ST has been the bane of the preseason... if fields is going to revert back to low line drives (like on the NO TD) then they'll need ever ST there is... I went with bryan over him since bryan just (the offseason) signed the new contract.

I still think martin or haynos could go to say cincy if they get the right offer...

i'd love to ax denney if they had someone else who could long snap.

just as a side note: if smith settles in at the CB position - i wouldn't be shocked to see him in some goal line sets.

Good Post

Can’t see more than 9 total players in the seconday…..Courtney Bryan gets cut in favour of an extra OLB.

I was on the Hilliard bandwagon….but after Ricky signed his extention, I see him getting cut unless he converts to FB.

Why does everyone think you can just cut the long snapper?

If that were the case don’t you think the NFL would’ve caught on by now? For example, the Patriots under Bellichick, perhaps the greatest 53-man roster manipulators of the past decade, carried Lonnie Paxton as their snapper throughout the duration of their title years. Paxton, who was recently cut and replaced, made all the snaps on those big FGs, while providing core special teams play. Denney isn’t going anywhere.

do i have them cutting him

NO!!!! i believe i said – i wish, and i’m sure the coaching staff does too, that they could find someone else on the roster who can do it…. doesn’t it kind of stink to was a roster spot for a guy who plays 5 times a game?

Chad Pennington - The Lame Ducker aka the progress stopper.

So do you think the Jets intentionally did it to set the organization back 3 years or was it just an unintended side effect of their move.

agreed

it just always surprises me that they don’t take someone like berger… murphy or whichever garner makes the team and say…. ok we want you to get good at this this year …. and then next year… you’ll be the LSer and the back up and then we can keep someone important…

That does happen occasionally,

the problem is reps at practice, LS do as much reps as anyone else practically, so you have to practice at 2 positions, lol, it’s not like the old days anymore, everyone is a specialist.

Plus - LS is much more valuable than many think - 'Bama LS recovered that fumbled punt last night.

Announcers mentioned that the LS often get downfield unblocked!
