I liked Thigpen last year. Henne has a chance these next coming weeks, to prove that we didn't waste another 2 round pick on a questionable QB. But best believe that if he keeps playing like he has been or worse he will be benched. Listen we all know chances are the season is over. But if we keep making moves, acquiring people, and making productive move's like this one, this season won't be a complete loss. We DID NOT LOSE ANYTHING BY TRADING for THIGPEN. I mean lets try and start Turner and Hartline whats the worst that can happen we lose? If we try out Turner and Hartline a couple of series of downs during a actual game you can see what they can really do in a real game time situation. Didn't Hartline have a great preseason? To all of a sudden just bench him? C'mon man. So what if Turner didn't do to well. Look who was throwing to him, he is a big WR that needs somebody to put the ball were only he can catch it like Sanchez did at USC at 6'5 that can be almost anywhere.
Listen most of the people who are saying "Henne this and Thigpen that" are the same people that don't see we had an easier schedule last year then this season's schedule. Also look what Thigpen was able to do with the crapy Chiefs, he was the one who kept all there games close, 5 games of his 11 starts he threw over 235 yards. There defense just couldn't keep the score down. Give Thigpen the chance to throw from behind a line that can block better then KC did. Plus we also got a better running game then KC. So that's less pressure on Thigpen hence more comfort in the pocket hence a better QB then what he was in KC.
By no means am I saying he's the next best thing to Manning, Brady, or any other ELITE QB, that would be crazy. I'm just saying he would be better then what we have now. Plus look at his contract 300,000 this year and 400,000 next year, That's a steal for a QB that is as young and as talented as him. He threw for 2649 yards, 18 TD's, 12 INt's, as far as QB accuracy we have Pennington to at least attempt to show him how to make his accuracy better. What I think the best part is 386 rushing yards, 3 rushing TD's, 6.2 yards per attempt, and a long run of 32 yards. Now by no means is this Mike Vick numbers but it shows he has the athletic ability to run the wildcat. What this show's also is that he can stay in the pocket an pass like a good pocket passer and run if he has too. He also caught a 37 yard TD pass, so case and point. So lets see were Sparano goes with this acquisition and let's see if there are more changes to come.
QB depending on how we do this season. WR, LB, and any secondary players we can get our hands on that is good.
