The closest thing to a living nightmare I have experienced in quite a while.
It’s a season of ifs. If we beat Indy, if Ronnie doesn’t fumble today, if Penne doesn’t get injured… Oh man.
Henne looked horrible. Bad mechanics, accuracy even on short stuff was off.
Not giving up on the season unless we lose next week.
And the Jets are kicking ass all over the place… I feel sick.

That’s the way people are treating Pat White…..after only 5 plays so far in the regular season. They are already calling White a bust after 2 games in his rookie season.

All I have to say to those that want to bash Chad Pennington’s “arm strength” should be real quick to shut their mouths right now. That “cannon” that Henne supposedly has was nowhere to be found. Maybe it was hanging out with Ginn, Fasano, Hartline, Camarillo and our pass rush. Oh and they were joined by Ricky and Ronnie in the second half thanks to the brilliant play calling of D.H.

The worst part
is that this team is better than some of the 3-0 teams. At least they look that way at times, then blow it!!
Henne now must play.
This is NO Super Bowl team…so what do we get by running out a conservative CP10 offense?
Buffalo is a good time to get the kid in there…sorry CP10….thank you for everything
Our defense is beyond bad. We should have given up 30 pts to everyteam this yr. ATL/SD both missed sure TD’s and multiple FG’s….and both ended on our 5 yard line….
Im not even against a late Pat White start. Let it all be seen

Rzayo wants real pain
I knew that there were going to be some people here that were going to say “Now is the time for Henne” but I just don’t get it. Regardless of the record, Henne has shown that he just isn’t ready. He looked just like he looked in preseason, lost, confused, and no confidence. Sure, I know he hasn’t had a “lot of time with the 1st team” but come on. The coaching staff already knew what we are seeing. Henne isn’t ready.
You can say all you want about CP10’s conservative offense but once again, CP10 hasn’t been responsible for any of the losses this season. He has done nothing more than move the ball on offense consistantly. Fumbles (other than his own, sorry Ronnie, you should have had that handoff) have killed several of his drives. Different things have been the causes in each game but there are two consistants. One is that no one is stopping our running attack, either Ricky or Ronnie, other than our own Offensive Coordinator.
Ronnie has 52 carries for 254 yards, a very respectable 4.9 average
Ricky has 34 carries for 163 yards, a very respectable 4.8 average
The play calling has been our achilles heel so far this year, not the “conservative offense” of CP10. Do you really think that the offense is going to “open up” with Henne in their? He isn’t ready but looks like we don’t have any other choice.

You can say the same for Pennington
What would the offense have looked like if the O-line blocked for Pennington, the receivers would have caught the ball, and the RBs and WRs didn’t fumble or drop several balls in the red zone? I am not giving up on Henne, I have just stated that he isn’t ready and doesn’t grasp the speed of the game. Who knows, maybe the OC can game plane something for him that will help him be successful, but his accuracy and reads are not good for someone who is supposed to be the future face of the franchise.

Thats incredibly stupid to say. He has great footwork, a tremendous arm and even after essentially blowing his chance to maybe give us a chance to win, he came back and lead to us to a td, garbage time or not

I still say play Henne though. This season is over for the most part. Play Henne let him get comfortable and then we will see at the end of the season if he is the future or not. He does not look like it as of right now though.

Give Pat White the same patience that you are asking to have for Henne, who by the way is a 2nd year QB, and who to be quite frank, didn’t look good at all in preseason or in the second half of yesterday’s game.
It is rediculous to think that since Flaco, Ryan and Sanchez are having success, that Henne or Pat White should as well.

Henne looked off of Bess on the pick 6, Weddle jumped the out because he saw the 5 yard out 10-15 times that game, not because Henne stared at it. They even showed Henne looking off in the replay.

im not a team jumper but all i know is that in 07 my heart got broke by one of the worst seasons in my life time by the phins and to see us go 0-3 and lose are starting qb and just really dont see anything to change to make us a game closing team,but i will watch every game and wear my phin gear in hope that we can pull this out and show the world what i see when i think of my phins

Yeah but....
The game was still 3-3 going into half time. Could the game have been different if Ronnie didn’t muff it, yes….but there was no reason that we should have gone away from the running game the way we did, especially when Pennington went out with the shoulder injury. That’s when Henning should have really been pounding Ricky and Ronnie about 15 straight times.

don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Tebow, and I think he might be the best NCAAF player of all-time (at least he’s in the convo), but I see too many things wrong mechanically and fundamentally for him to be successful in the NFL right off the bat. I think in the right situation, where a team is patient with him, he can succeed.

This year is downer so far……The only promise I see is our O-Line is looking better each week for our run game!
OL is plowing the road
Ronnie is starting to show the greatness we expect of him now that he has some consistent holes to run though. Merling and Langford are entrenched as starters on the DL for a long time, both of them are the real deal. Sean Smith is locking people up, and Vontae Davis is getting better each week. Wake can rush the passer, even if the sack numbers aren’t there.
The guys I really want to see is Walden at a little ILB, maybe he can be an impact player on D just like he is on ST. Patrick Turner a little more, he’s a huge target and a smooth route runner, get him some action and see if he can be a good WR. Chris Clemons has some speed and was our biggest defensive playmaker through the preseason, and I’d like to see him get some playing time.
Overall, the team has a lot of talent, but guys are young and inexperienced, and we still need to fill in more pieces.

It seems like the Trifecta has fixed one area of the team at a team in the draft. 08 it was the lines, 09 it was the secondary (even though it’s been terrible so far, I think the future, with VD, SS, and CC is bright). This year coming up, I think it’s LB’s/WR’s.

He got beat by a great throw and an even better catch. There is no way to pin any blame on Smith. The only way you can find fault with his play was if we won the game 28-0 and had no penalties and no turn overs and you are finished showing Will Allen his poor coverage against everyone on Sunday.
Most of the big plays were against Will Allen, not Smith.

Your correct. Sometimes the QB throws such a prefect pass that no one can defend it.
If anyone is to blame for a pass like that its usally a poor pass rush that allows the QB to set up to throw the perfect pass.

My Take on this Game.....
Okay, trial by fire, learn to swim by throwing the kid into the deep end eh?
Look, I’ve been pretty vocal of my support for CP10 all season long. Its now time to shift that support to Henne. Penne is injured, and as bad as Henne looked today, he’s our guy……if Henne ends up with just a bone bruise or something, and could come back in a week or 2, I think we need to keep him on the bench. Henne needs to develop.
Guys, take what Henne did today, and throw it out the window. He didn’t spend a whole week practicing how to play against the Chargers, he was thrown into the pool, and he drowned. Its not a shocker that he has accuracy problems. He had accuracy issues in College, and he’s had accuracy issues in the Preseason. He’ll get better, or at least he better get better.
Ginn, I’ve said it a million times. The only time Ginn can succeed, is when the defense is playing RUN, and putting an extra man in the box. He’s not our guy, and everyone needs to realize that. Maybe he’s our #2, maybe in a perfect world he’s our slot guy… but for now, he’s the #1, and he has to make plays…BIG plays.
Ginn would impress me a ton if he would step up, and help Henne out by giving him a reliable target.
3 Trips inside the 5 yard line, and we fumble, and get 2 FG’s. Unacceptable, no matter who is the QB on this team.
Its a long season, now its time to settle down. Put away those thoughts of 11-5, put away those thoughts of winning the division. And HOPE for 9-7 or 8-8 season. Its time to watch for development of Henne, and time to evaluate ALL our of WRs. Time to designate them 1 thru 5…. This rotational garbage isn’t cutting it. Give them a position, let them get comfortable in it.
I DO NOT want us to lean on the running game for the rest of the season so we can baby Henne. Trial by fire….. and right now, he’s burning.

This season isn’t about the playoffs, and I don’t think it ever was. It’s about inching closer to the promised land. Sparano and the players have a ton to learn that one 11-5 season cannot possibly teach.

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

I don’t think Henne is the man, but would love to be wrong. I think that the rest of the season should be enough time to prove it. Once again I would love to be wrong. He just doesn’t strike me as a smark QB, in college or the pros. But lets stop bashing him after one half of a game where the gameplan wasn’t for him
I don’t agree with the trial by fire approach you speak of though. I say that we have arguably the best 1-2 RB punch in the league this year, you have to utilize that as the strength and create opportunities for Henne to be successful. Use it to really open up the play action. If there is any position that we need to go trial by fire, it’s the WR position. Put in some of the new guys, let Camarillo heal the knee completely.

I'm thinking......I might have overestimated our potenial......
After winning the division last year I was very optimistic about this year. Geeked to go on the road to NY, bought tickets to Pats & Steelers game in south Florida, ready to spend………..new hats, shirts, more tickets, anything Dolphins. Now, ………..not so much. Do not get me wrong here,……….I AM A HUGE DOLPHIND FANS,……..WIN OR LOSE !! But, this shit is old, I can live with losing games. It’s getting burned on 20-30 yard pass plays that make me nuts !!! I can live with Henne ( for now ), most QB’s early on have growing pains. It seems only lately they have grown quickly ( Big Ben, Falco, Ryan). I sure doen’t know what the answer is, but I got the rest of the season for the Trifecta to figure it out. I’m at a bit of of loss……………however there were a couple of smok’en hot big titted babes at Hooters today, AAHHHHH !!

Ugly weekend for Florida football
Seriously….FSU loses to South Florida, The U gets whipped by Va Tech. Tim Tebow gets knocked out by his lineman’s knee. The Dolphins…well we already know enough of that crap. The Bucs get shut out at home!!! Thankfully the Jags won! Not a lot to cheer about this week for a Florida fan. :(

and after watching Rookie Sanchez look so comfortable and relaxed behind center, as if he KNOWS and has the confidence, that he BELONGS there, I thought, Henne, if he gets some playing time, he’ll feel the same way because he getting all this “training” watching Pennington for two years. Henne looked very uneasy. He looked scared and nervous and not in sinc with the line (3 or 4 penalites). Don’t understand this learning behind the starter, when you have rookie QB come in and JUST TAKE OVER!!!!!! I don’t get it. Henne KNOWS that he must start next week – I’m sure Penny will be out – so Henne better get his shi- together and act like Ryan, and Flacco and Sanchez. Did I miss anybody???
The difference I think
is Sanchez has had plenty of 1st team reps as the QB in practice, while Henne started the day as the 3rd QB. He doesn’t get practice reps with the 1st team O, and I expect after a week of reps, he’ll look better next week. Give him a couple weeks of starting and practicing as the starter, and then we can make a judgment

OK - I'm sorry.
I KNOW he was only playing, what, a couple of quarters. And true, he doesn’t practice with the first team. I really like him. I feel he’ll be a solid addition for us. He has an extremely strong arm. Once we get a solid WR who could develop into his “favorite” target, I guess down the road, he’ll win some games for us. If Rivers had so sit and wait behind Brees, I guess Henne is in the same situation. You both are right. To Phinsider HOF and Kazam92. Thank you for your insights and sensible explanations.

I agree that he needs a favorite target at WR, but if Turner can get on the field, and Ginn can get his act together now that the deep threat is there, he should have 4 solid options, a good RB out the backfield, and (hopefully) a solid TE..

Don't judge the mass by a select few
If it was EASY then the Sanchezs, the Ryans, the Flacos, and a select few others would be the rule and not the exception. There is a reason that great college QBs struggle in the Pros their first season or two or three. The game is completely different, as is the speed of the game. Keep in mind that Sanchez and Flaco were put in positions to succeed by having defenses that have not forced them to have to make plays. Look a the difference in Flaco in his second year….now he is being allowed to be more aggressive, especially with the confidence the team has in it’s defense.

To be honest it looked as if we dominated! But whenever a team passes near will Allen and gibril Wilson it’s big plays!! Our O line just can’t get it done! :-( inside the 5 yard line 4 times and we got six points! :-( that’s was the story! Oh and Ginn CAN NOT catch!! We should have won!!

I feel better after this loss than the loss to Atl and Ind.
The franchise is finally in a position to move forward with Henne. And while everyone here will focus on the INT (and it was bad) I was impressed with Henne’s poise. He was able to extend plays with his feet. He made some nice throws down field, if only Ginn can catch them and he wasn’t over the LOS.
With a week of 1st team reps at practice, I think all of us will see a different player next week. It’s time to see the future, and that future is Henne. Hopefully he won’t let us down.
He’d have had a touchdown pass if he’d have gotten rid of the ball just a little sooner. He wasn’t completely caught in the headlights. I think on that play alone he showed his potential. Scramble and make a big play, even if it was a step across the line of scrimmage. That’s just his inexperience. When he’s experienced he won’t take that extra step but have the ball gone already and still connect.

OMG! This is just our second season with this group of coaches and office people and we had a weak scheduale last yea. We got lucky going 11-5 with the batch of guys we had, this team isn’t done yet, we still have alot of holes to fill and this season is shown it. I’m a Dolfan but I’m a realist also and we need younger and better linebackers and a young strong nose tackle. Gibril wilson isnt the answer in our safety dept. also corners are going to get beat all year we need a #1 corner and Sean Smith will get there but not this year and as for Vontea Davis he needs to get in there and get dirty we need his aggressiveness and hard hitting right now! everybody just needs to be patiant remember it was for a 4 year deal to get us to be a contender.

The way a lot of you are acting, you'd think the Dolphins lost their franchise
We’re 0-3, big deal. So is Tennesse. Steelers are 1-2. Not only is the season NOT over with, but even if it were, there’s a silver lining to losing, and it’s called the number 1 pick. Obviously that’s weeks ahead of us and I hope to hell we keep playing hard and get out of our hole, but let’s be realistic.
Were we winning a super bowl? No.
Why?
Because we’re not good enough and our goal shouldn’t be making the playoffs but building a team that, in a few years, will be solid enough to dominate the same teams we’re losing to now.
And don’t forget, we’re ONE year removed from 1-15, and yeah, we went to the playoffs last year, and we’re playing really inconsistent football right now, but shit all over me if we’re not just a few plays here and there from being 3-0 and I’ll tell you naysayers what’s for, there’s a bandwagon and when it hits a bump and some of you fall off and hit your heads, hopefully you won’t try climbing back on.
My entire take on the Dolphins is that that 1-15 season set us back to 0 (zero). We have to climb to the top again. It’s not going to happen in a year or two, it’ll take 3-5 years. But we’re slowly doing it. Making the playoffs last year was a gift, and a move in the right direction, experience for young players on our team. Last Monday night’s game was another. Every game we go into with our heads up and play well, even if not well enough to win, is another move in the same right direction.
Bottom line is that Tony Sparano is learning, the players are learning, and there will be a team next year in Miami and it will be called the Dolphins. In fact, that very team will be on the field next Sunday against Buffallo. It may become a long wait for the 2010 draft, a lot sooner than I had anticipated to begin waiting for it, but I’m not jumping this ship for anything.

and you can find the numbers to make anything look bright. Henne’s performance left nothing to be taken as positive. The Chargers were in “prevent defense” mode and it was Ricky that scored the TD. The only reason the drive was successful was because of a sick catch by Ronnie Brown. Which brings me to another question, why doesn’t Miami use Ronnie and Ricky more in the passing game???

it also seems as though Dan Henning forgot how to call games and just decided to stop calling all the gadgets and all the other shit we did well last year, beacuse for two weeks in a row when viewing the games any normal fan can obviously see that the same exact play from the same exact formation is being called four to five times, last wwek it was the draw to ronnie brown, which was also the same look he fimbled today, then Henne threw that RB screen play at least five times in the second half, we have to mix it up and call more plays that give us chances of gaining more than five yards on passing downs.

Those players or people that think your unproved backup Chad Henne has’nt won nothing. I mean nothing. So for takeing a cheap shot at Pat White for being drafted higher than chad dont hate pat white hate the staff for relizeing that pat will take the team into a new direction.. So if you or the beloved coaching staff dont want him trade him and stop bashing his hall of fame college life I dont see henne going into the hall of fame so bite it.
