Now that The Jets and The Bills look legitimate,
our schedule got much worse. It's sad when we have to look forward to playing Tampa Bay as our only "easy" game in the first half of the season. At least we have Jacksonville in December!!
I don't know about you, but I'm steeling myself against the inevitable onslaught of "regular season warrior" fans screaming for Sparano/Pennington/Ginn/etc's head when we fall short of the playoffs.
I know there is going to be some backlash from this post, but before you flame me, take a look at our schedule strewn across the top of The Phins website. Just look at those logos for a minute and reality will start to set in.. That is one daunting schedule no matter what team you are. There isn't really a rest at all. We get our bye week and immediately come back to face New Orleans. Our defense surely cannot stop New Orleans, they made The Eagles defense look like origami. It's going to be Indy Round 2.. let's just hope it's devoid of QB sneaks with a minute to go.
Seriously, what do we have to look forward to? I'll tell you what--a LOT of gut wrenching games. Just like last year..except this year, the games are against real opponents. It's going to be one hell of a ride, no matter how it shakes out. Even if our chances of making the playoffs are slim, I don't think I trade this schedule for an easier one. What better way to say "I told you so" than to come out with a winning record against the hands down toughest schedule in the league?

don't get ahead of yourself
the jets defense may be for real, but i’m not putting them in the superbowl yet…
but i have to say, i think the dolphins schedule has gotten easier…. the bills really arent that good, they just beat a bad football team at home… my guess is … had you flipped opponents miami would have won by 20 and the IOUS would have lost by 20…
the pats look terrible right now without welker and their defense … eh… they look a lot more beatable…
tenn’s defense looks like they miss Scwartz and/or Albert… TB looks to be a bigger mess then i expected, lina is close to imploding… and SD is beat up as we go inot the game… and J-hole might already be in LA when the fins play that game…. much easier schedule now then what it looked like 2 weeks ago.

We see the exact opposite things.
I never said The Jets are going to The Super Bowl, that’s Baltimore. Although, I thought Baltimore was going all last season too until they proved to me three times over that they cannot beat The Steelers, no matter how badly they beat everyone else.
I think we currently bring up the rear in The AFC East. The Bills have great offense and ST coupled with a middling defense. The real question is if Trent Edwards can remain consistent, or if he’ll revert to his bad habits of the last two years. The Patriots have a good offense and a decent defense. I do think The Bills are better than The Pats minus Welker, but Welker will likely be back in a week or two. The Jets have a strong defense and good running game to help keep Sanchez confident. If Sanchez gets shaken, then their season could implode, but other than that I don’t see anything to suggest that The Jets aren’t a damn good team. They held Houston to a TD and then Houston put up serious points against Tennessee. You see that as Houston and Tennessee being bad, and The Jets being decent. I see that as Tennessee and Houston having high powered offenses and NYJ having a top 5 defense.
Let’s remember, Rex Ryan was in charge of The Bears D when they went to the Super Bowl. Then he went to The Ravens who rivaled Pittsburgh for the #1 spot. The Jets already had a decent defense last year. Everybody knew Lowry and Revis were a nasty tandem from game 1 last year. Now they also have Bart Scott added to the mix in addition to one of the best defensive minds in the league. I think The Jets D is going to be nasty all year long, barring injuries of course.

guess we are going around the same point
no – i guess i was saying, while i expected the jets to be good, they are a much harder game on the schedule then i had expected…. people do forget they were teh #1 seed last year after the Tenn game…
but other then that i thought the the opposition is looking easier then i expected…
while NE is good – they don’t look like super bowl contenders right now…
while tenn is VERY Good – they don’t look as dominant.
buffalo – beat a team with cover two corners who played the whole game in man and got torched by 2 wide receivers who can get deep… they aren’t good. they are playing a rookie 0-line and will get tourched by the phins… game looks much easier then i had it pegged…
So what i’m saying is while they still have a tough schedule it’s not as hard as i thought….
btw: i get grief for my sig… i’m surprised you don’t get more for yours.

I think every game is winnable for us.
I just felt there was a guaranteed sweep of The Bills before the season started because there wasn’t a single returning starter playing at the same position, but they’ve surprised me. Still, their RT is out for the season now, so the line could very well fall apart.
And I do get grief for my sig every now and then. I’m sure I will get more if he can build on his success in Week 2.

butler was a guard who
they put at tackle cause they paid him, and they didn’t have anyone else… they brought runyan in for a try out BEFORE butler was hurt…
Dicky J is a bad football coach… nice guy by all accounts, but a bad coach…. and the injury bug has hit them already…
PLZNZCHWXZY is already hurt at LB and they where thin there to begin with… if the fins only win 2 games all year… these will be the 2.

Nice spelling haha
This is how I felt before the season started, but Fred Jackson is pretty damn good and Trent Edwards looks very confident in the pocket. If they get another guy to miraculously work in the O-Line, they could be ok.
I agree about Dick Jauron. How many times do they need to go 7-9 before they can his ass?

The Bills game looks easier now!? As in compared to the preseason? Wow. We must be watching different teams.
If I were up against a team that couldn’t score a single TD in the preseason I’d be confident. If I were going up against a team with a QB sporting a 105 passer rating and averaging 3 TDs a game I’d certainly be less confident. Call me crazy I guess.

first off what the hell does a QB rating mean
seriously…. which situation gives the QB a higher rating ….
situation there are two 3rd and 10’s
QB #1 – throws to completions for 6 yards each
QB#2 – throws and incomplete pass and the 2nd time throws a 12 yarder…
which is the higher rated QB – #1 , which one did better for his team???
so i’m with terry bradshaw – when the asked him what his QB rating was “4 superbowls”
now – to your post…. does the preseason really mean anything - seriously - does anyone expect the preseason to give you a clue as to how a team will do?
and yeah – i sort of figured teh bills would be ok – but after watching them … choke to NE and then let TB hang around, in addition to the injuries, i don’t think the bills can stay on the field with the fins. I expect a 2+ score win in miami and a win in bisonville.

Look, of course you think your team is going to win – I didn’t say anything about that because that’s a pointless argument. I think the Bills win, you think the Phins win, who cares.
All I’m saying is it seems pretty obvious that the Bills have been playing better therefore they will likely pose more of a threat, rather then less. Whether you think the preseason means anything is COMPLETELY irrelevant. The fact is the Bills played poorly in the preseason and they’re playing better now. That would seem to make them more of a challenge, rather then less of one. I don’t see how that’s anything but common sense.

pft it's week 3, no team (other than maybe the Saints) is "for real"
How did the Bills start out last year? like 5-0? How did they finish?
How strong did the Jets start out? They stiffened a prevailing Tennessee team on both sides of the ball. Where did they end up?
I was as disappointed as any other fan about Monday night, and I still am and refuse to discuss it with anyone, but the fact of the matter is, we’re 0-2. Last year we had a close one slip through our fingers and we had a blow out, this year is no different. Our offense and defense will align at some point. Our OL looked amazing in pass and run. Garrard barely had a second to react when they played the Colts, and our line was in the second level half the time.
Last week Sparano went back to the basics with the OL, and this week he will with teh defense. He’ll bring out tackle dummies, he’ll light a fire underneath the OLBs asses. We have Joey Porter and Jason Taylor, two of the most feared pass rushers in the game; they didn’t unlearn what a decade in teh game taught them. if we have to brave an 0-2 (hell even 0-3) start to become a dominant football team who plays “Us against the World” football, then so be it. We have the Tuna. So have some faith.

Bills started out 5-1, finished 7-9. That guarantees it will happen again. Just like when Miami went 1-15 and were guaranteed not to have more then 5 wins the next season.

The Bills started out 5-1 against trash teams.
And during that starting stretch, I made sure to point out that The Bills had only beaten bottom tier teams. Their starting schedule was absurdly easy, unlike this year.

And The Jets had an injured 40 year old man
whom Mangini didn’t have the balls to bench for the final 6 games last year. The Jets WERE good and would easily have made the playoffs if they had benched Favre for the final 5-6 games to rest him while Kellen Clemens or even a veteran journeyman caretaker stepped in to win ONE game to ensure a playoff birth. A rested Favre would have gotten them deep too.

i disagree. it wasn't JUST Favre that kept them out, their heads got big and they played like shit
in a team sport you can’t blame ONE culprit for the loss of a season

I'm fairly certain you can blame the commander on the football field,
especially when he threw TWO touchdowns to NINE interceptions in the last 5 games. It’s pretty freaking hard for anybody else on offense to get any blame when they weren’t on the field long enough to mess up. And considering the only team to score more than 30 points after all of those turnovers was the Denver Broncos (2008’s #1 offense), I think that says a lot about the play of the defense. Favre was also sacked 9 times (less than 2 a game) which says the O-Line was doing their job.
So please, tell me WHO besides that ONE player is to blame for the loss, and tell me why? The only thing you can say is Mangini for not benching Favre, but that still puts the entire pile of in game f#ck-ups directly in front of Favre.

I don’t see how anyone can argue against the idea that Miami’s schedule has seemed to have gotten a little harder with the emergence of the Jets and Bills as competitive opponents. Clearly if Sanchez and Edwards were really sucking these games would be easier – how is that anything but common sense?
A lot COULD change between now and Miami’s games against these two teams, but as of right now it seems Miami will be in for a tough game with these teams – as with the vast majority on their schedule.
