Is anyone else as sick and tired as I am of the defending AFC East Champs being absolutely disrespected to start off this season? Tonight we have a home game on Monday Night Football. If our team get get up and excited for this then there is something wrong with them. This is the only thing getting me though my Monday, the same adrenaline that the team is feeling is keeping me awake (since I watched the entire G-Men game last night) and now I am at work EARLY. This is THE Turning Point of our season. Last year we might have had an easier schedule but we still beat some good / really good teams. There is no reason for us to be afraid.
Here are my 5 Keys to the game:
1.) Ronnie Brown needs to touch the ball 20+ times. A combination of Rushes, Receptions and Passes the number needs to be 20. Ricky Williams needs to be a running back SPELL. Not a 2nd part of the offense. And if Ricky is coming in early then Ronnie Brown needs to stay in the game. If the running game doesn't work early then throw the ball to him in the flats or a screen.
2.) Chad Pennington can turn the ball over a max of 1 time. Anymore will put us in a bad spot.
3.) We need to hit Peyton Manning 6 times. Similar to what you saw in the Jets / Pats game yesterday, Brady wasn't getting sacked but because he was seeing a pressure like he saw in his last super bowl he couldn't make the throws that he wanted to who he wanted to. If we force Manning to make quick decisions than it will help out our secondary and our Defense overall. They cannot be on the field as long as they were last week.
4.) We need our swagger back. Instead of reacting to the game we need to make the Colts be the ones that are reacting to us. The offense needs to take some chances and push the ball foward. No turnovers and keep the D on their heels. Same as I mentioned above, send the heat and make Manning make a quicker decsion than he would like.
5.) Shut down Reggie Wayne. If Peyton Manning doesn't connect with Reggie Wayne for 100 Yards do you think they will win this game? I would rather take my chances in seeing how Basket, Collie or Garcon react than dealing with Reggie Wayne.
Everyone enjoy their Mondays at work and best of luck later. We need to show everyone that last year was far from a fluke and the Dolphins have the heart and desire to be a good team and a great team.
