Each team always gets the same amount of possessions, pretty much.
You have to outperform the other team on those possessions. So far, Indy have matched us, TD-TD, then FGs. We need to score near the end of the game to win this one. I think we will.

Thats because Ginn isn't a good receiver....
He gets open when the Defense plays to stop the run.
But when they are in a passing Defense, he can’t find daylight.
When the game is on the Line, you EXPECT your #1 WR to make a play… Ginn NEVER makes that play..
I'll give you the first one
he got lost in the back of the endzone and couldn’t find the back line. that’s on him. The second one? Good defensive play. Ginn wasn’t by himself there… you must not understand how tough that catch is, but I’m sure if he catches it, this whole place flips the fuck out about how incredibly awesome that catch is. Why don’t we get mad at Ronnie for not breaking 7 tackles on that play in the 3rd quarter? That woulda been awesome too, but he must suck cuz he couldn’t do it

Secondary, and Ginn dropping 2 TD’s lost the game for us.

We you idiots watching the same game, ginn was great the CB on that TD could have been called for interference his hands were all over ginn. Ginn had a great game if you want to blame anyone on offense(and i think no one should be blamed) then you blame pennington. He sucked at the two minute drill and there were countless times where he could not throw to an open man down field.

They played a great game... We played a good game just couldn't finish it....
We need to work on defense but theres no need to panic…We held the ball for over 45 minutes….We had some positives we just need to build on it next week… It was a good game.. I’m really tired of everyone busted Tedd Ginns balls too… Against Buffalo we acted like he was a god and now he blows because he dropped a pass that not many people would have reeled in… Let’s wait until the end of the year before we start yelling for Tedd Ginns head…

i dont mind losing to peytons passing but a busted run up the gut and then a screen pass for 50 yards?
Teddy did have the chance to make a play…….although the cb was interfering with his hand completely under the right shoulder pad, teddy did have BOTH HANDS ON THE BALL……it sucks that he wasnt the savior today but the loss goes to the defense.

IT IS NOT TED GINNS FAULT
He should make the catch yes. If he catches it, it is a great catch, stop talking like its a easy catch. HE IS NOT A TOP RECEIVER in the league, if you expect him to be you’re mistaken. Sadly, with the talent level on our team, he is currently out best receiver. The game came down to bad coaching at the end of the game. Terrible clock management, and a few running plays that really really were untimely. I’m sorry Sparano but 3 minutes left, and you need a touchdown, if you’re going to run the ball, at last be in the hurry up offense. They waste 1 minute off the clock basically for 2 plays. Also, I haven’t seen worse play calling since dave wannstedt on that run before the field goal to make it 23-20. Was Sparano just assuming that the 3 point lead was fine? Why would you ever make a conservative call like that, knowing that Peyton Manning is getting the ball. The defense was terrible. Terrible tackling by all accounts. This game ruins my week. Jason Taylor’s face at the end of the game said it all. The luster of Sparano will wear off (albeit prematurely) in the eyes of the local media, and fans and things are about to get interesting.

I said it was premature to judge tony, I said the tackling was bad, I said the defense was bad. I said the two minute drill was bad. All of those things combined are bad.

I can’t mention the coach of the team I follow ? I don’t think im the only person questioning decisions made throughout the game. I was specific with the instances i disagreed with him on. No big deal, and that just mentioning a few things isn’t premature.
I feel when there are so many other more pressing issues
that influenced this game that it is just a frstrated fan venting for the smallest of the problems.

Heres my proposal
there is a hierarchy of blame going around and here is my opinion from top down.
Blame Game
1. Defense- gets 80 % of the blame tonight
Gave up the big play three times for a TD, nonexistent pass rush
2. Teddy Ginn- 12% Dropped three passes over all including 2 for TDs
3. CP10- 5% of blame. Should have taken the bull by the horns and called a timeout.
4. Coaching- 3% of blame. Could have managed game better at end but overall solid plan. They had the chances to win but didnt execute.

I can agree with most of that at first glance....
But I’d narrow the Defense down to the Secondary, particularly the safeties, and Linebackers. I think the DBs did an excellent job.
I mean stopping one of the big plays
shouldve been able to make one of those tds been a fg. Three plays like that will kill you. I cant even think about dishing the blame out to other parts of the team when we got shredded like that.

Colts had ball less than 15 minutes in the entire game. Last time a team won with that much time was in 1977. We also had the lead 4 times. Colts had ball less than 15 minutes and scored 27 points on our D. Yikes.

The first one I blame him, he needs to realize where hes at in the end-zone. But the second one, a handful of receivers make that catch with a db draped all over them. He’s an nfl reciever and sparano is an nfl coach, and our defense is an nfl defense, and they were a bit spotty tonight.

Indie was a better offense than us.
The Colts defense was on the field waaaay too long, gave up a ton of 3rd downs, couldn’t stop the run…. but their offense, unlike the Fins, were able to win the game for the team at the end.

It was a serious coaching mistake to run at 3rd and 6 when tied. This is f--king Peyton Manning, FG is no good.
The one damn call that lost us the game. Our offence never had the playmaking skill to run the 2-minute drill, so that wasn’t where we lost it. We lost it on D, and on that poor 3rd down call.

Our Secondary was 27th in the league last year, we won’t make a HUGE improvement for at least a year or 2.

TS lost the game
Hey, long time follower of this blog, out of the pain of this defeat i finally decided to post.
Yes, we can blame Ginn for not making that catch, or the Defense (and Defense Coordinator) for the abysmal calls, or Wilson for being the worst open field tackler i have ever seen.
But IMO, Tony Sparano fully to blame. His ultra conservative calls on 3rd down, at end of first half (why not even try and run a fake 4th and 1 to get Indy to jump offside? you had 2 time outs!), and then in 4th qtr (running on 3rd down? ), cost us the game.
Not sure what happens now, we have a very tough schedule, we have to find a way to win San Diego, who don’t want to go 1-2 either but have injury issues.
Go Fins (will sleep hurt tonight :(

That D though. Wow. Our safeties are really bad. Gibril Wilson needs to go. Time to see what Clemons can do.
I can’t believe I just saw that happen. 15 minutes? They made like two stands. All the other times were Colts touchdowns.
Channing Crowder better be quiet as (fill in the word) this week. If I hear how he hates the offense, whichever offense, I will vomit. He apparently loves the Colts offense. Along with the entire Dolphins defense.

Our o-line urgency was sad, but the plays were there. They were good and they got us close to the win.
I’m proud of our corners they stopped plays, not made them.
Our run d was okay, suffered against the draw… thats the colts though.
The safeties were dissapointing against TEs. More speed would be better.

This is the last post for the night...
I’m not going to argue who lost the game…I personally do not blame Ted Ginn or Chad Pennington for the loss… If you ask me we lost from poor secondary play.. 300 yards on 14 completions???? How there is any question why we lost this game I will never know… I’m not trying to start any debates or anything simply stating my opinion… I also think our clock management was pretty piss poor too. I’m tired of people saying the O lost us the game too… We scored 23 points.. That should be plenty of points to win a football game… On a positive note the cornerbacks didn’t look bad and Ronnie, Ricky, and Cobbs looked pretty good… Anyways it was a good game… I enjoyed it.. I’m out though…See yall next week… I’m ready to see the Dolphins tear up the Chargers… GO PHINS!!!!

Manning was flawless in his play calling at the line and in his accuracy. He made the defense look silly…
We should not have done those silly short passes on the last field goal drive. We were running down their throats and they couldn’t stop us. That killed our momentum. Those short passes are for if your running game is not working.

If the defense had held on that last drive
and we win the game, all we would be talking about would be the wildcat, run offense, and clock dominance. When it comes down to it or defense didn’t get the job done all game. The offense got it done until the final drive when they fell a little short. I can understand blaming Pennington and Ginn for the last drive, but overall the offense had a great game. The defense played poorly all game and thats what we should be worried about.

really can't argue with anything
except the arm strength thing. I know he doesn’t have a strong arm, and the deep ball just isn’t a part of the offense, but alot of his 3rd down conversions he had to zip the ball in there. I think some of the dump off throws were because of how well we were running and controlling the ball and him not wanting to turn it over and give Manning a short field. Conservative was how we played it tonight, and if the D stepped it up, then Manning doesn’t get 27 points in 15 minutes.
