9/11 Never Forget
September 11, 2001 we as Americans were attacked by terrorists who want to destroy our way of lives. Fortunately, I didn't know anyone that perished or was injured in the attacks themselves, but I'm sure a lot of you do. I want this post to be for anyone that wants to share their memories of this awful day in our country's history, and for those of you that did lose someone if you want to share their memories, feel free to...after all we are a family here, and this is what families do...
i'll start first...I was just a young pup at the time and didn't fully understand what was happening or why, but i did know that was monumental and a huge moment in the history of the United States of America and i will NEVER forget where i was when I got the news and my feelings as it was happening...I was in middle school, sixth grade to be exact, and i had just finished my first class of the day and was walking to my next class...on the way i heard some kids talking about the White House being evacuated and what not, but i didn't take much credence to this, because well the kids i heard it from were total goofballs and nobody really believed anything they said anyway, and plus they were also making jokes about it as well...i walk into class, with my best friend right next to me, and the first thing i noticed was my teacher sitting on one of the desks, back to us, and the tv was on, both extreme rarities...so right then i knew something was up...then i start paying attention to the TV and see a building on fire, which i immediately recognized as one of the Twin Towers...i then looked at the headline and it said "Plane Crashed into Twin Tower" (this was before the the second plane hit)...so i thought "ok, it was an accident" ...then the second plane hit and i didn't know what to think then, i was totally baffled...it was the worst sight i had ever seen, two American landmarks, both in flames, and as much as i wanted to look away from the screen, i couldn't, my eyes were fixated on the screen...at this point my teacher tried to explain what was happening, but, just like the rest of the country, she had to explaination for it, so she just gave us the facts...The reporters on the TV were talking about how the Twin Towers foundations were super strong and could withstand heat like this, and would not collapse...well, then they fell...at this time i remember one of my best friends, kid i grew up, running out of the room crying, and i found out later why. He had a uncle that worked in one of the buildings on one of the upper floors (he luckily had a meeting that morning at another location, so he was unscathed)...then this little fucking Spanish kid (no offense to anyone, i actually love spanish people, most of my best friends are Spanish, but at this time i absolutely hated him, and can't tell the story w/o calling him a bad name lol) sitting next to me and asked, as if nothing happened, "Are we playing basketball after this?"...this furiated me for some reason and looking back i feel a little guilty for getting so mad, but i didn't say anything to him, i just ignored it...well turns out the school had called parents to pick us up so kids kept getting called down to the office to leave when their parents got there...my neighbor's mom came to pick us up, and i went to their house while i waited for my mom to come get me...his mom didn't want us watching the news, so we went on the computer, where i stumbled on a video...The song was Lee Greenwood's "I'm Proud to be an American" and the video was a slideshow of the attacks, don't know how whoever put this up did it so quickly, but watching the video, combine with the song, i justt completely broke down and bawled my eyes out...and this is where my story ends, as i don't quite remember what happened after this...but i will tell you this, my patriotism grew exponentially because of this day...
i want to thank those of you that read my day on September 11, 2001, and i hope that you share yours...

nice post....
i have dedicated part of my zerothirteen.com site to the soldiers and their families for the continued service to our country..without them we wouldnt be sitting here blogging about the Phins. I have many friends/family that were/are involved with military(semper fi brothers) and support them any little way I can….sending packages goes a long way(anymarine.com…or similar)..Our military kicks ass,period..but they need our support..back in the 40’s for wwii, regular citizens like ourselves had to give up their time to support the military…well, nowadays we sit and watch on cnn..remember, freedom isnt free….Thanks to you, military families, past and present…Now get near a tv and support the Phins, cuz theyre about to “go to war”….believe!!!!!!!!!

This is very difficult for me..... every year....
… but I thank all of you for your words… THANKS MiamihastheDolphins!!!
Thank you to all who have served and are back now… well done!
And to those who are still out there, (and excuse me cause I can’t remember all your call signs)… Mr Medic, Navy-dude, etc… keep up the good fight. Don’t discourage, you’ll be back soon. And if you have to do something there, do it the best you know how… no matter how small or how mundane. I think of all of you often. The sacrifices are great and the worldly recognition small… but that’s not why you and I do or did for anyway.
There are many who love and support you…. I know I do.

i was 14 years old, sitting in school. then, out of no were we here a BOOM. I was just a few blocks away from the trade center. alarms are going off like crazy in the school. we all hide in the bastment. it seems like were down there forever. then, my dad picked me up and drove us into westchester county (half hour away from city) were we hid at my grandma’s house. we went home about a week latter. RIP to all the innocent lifes lost, including cops, fire fighters, and innocent children. we’ll always remember

9/11 was one of the worst times in our History
that united everyone one who considered themselves american. People like the firefighters, amd all the others inspire people still today. I am glad for their service and hope to live up to what they die for. Thank God for American.
