My take on our Rookies
We've made it halfway through pre-season. It's time to start evaluating the rookies.
Rankings on a scale of 1-10.
Vontae Davis: 5; Played well last night, locking down his man for most of the game. However, in the 1st game, he made a few bonehead plays, including a stupid fair catch interference.
Pat White: 6; I'm a little biased when it comes to my boy Pat. He was ok on Monday. He was only 2 for 7 with a pick, but the pick was a ball that was tipped by the receiver. He did make things happen with his feet, which is why we brought him in. Nothing to special last night.
Patrick Turner: 7; Has great speed and size. Has the potential to be a great receiver, just needs to avoid dropped balls.
Brian Hartline: 9; Once again, it could be kinda biased. He has good speed, and has been very impressive so far in both games. He's another receiver with potential.
Sean Smith: 9; Very impressive against Jacksonville. Locked down HOF receiver Tory Holt all night, and got a pick in the end zone. Just needs to get well soon!
Thats my point of view. Thoughts?

Sean is really da man.
I say Vontae needs some time to settle and learn a little. Some really good players in college come into the NFL. And blow-up. Sorry Conquistador but take, Beck for instance. Me living in New Mexico, had gone to many BYU, Lobo games. And he was pretty good in colllege, but he turned into a NFL blow up player.

vontae played great yesterday though.
i think it was just the first game, getting used to the rules, game speed, rookie jitters, etc. he should be great from now on. personally i was really impressed by davis yesterday, almost as impressed as i was with sean smith in the first game.

If Vontae nails down the mental aspect of the game he'll be star in this league
and we saw what he can do when he’s not making boneheaded mistakes.

I like Patrick Turner the size and he is a pretty good route runner, he does have solid hands as well, but really Sean Smith will probably make the most impact out of the bunch along with the receivers. I guess we will know for real when the regular season rolls around the corner.

Smith and Turner for me
both could end up starting. Sean Smith was a STEAL, there’s no such thing as a 6’4 CB, but we got one lol
And Turner is the big possession WR we wanted. He’s huge, and he’s a smooth route runner with decent speed and good hands.
Vontae will be fine. He’s physical as hell, and you can always tone it back. Rather have a guy that’s TOO aggressive, than somebody scared to hit.
All in all, another great draft by our FO.
