Couldn’t agree more about the distraction. Other than politicians, sports and entertainment ego’s are the worst. The sideline will be a zoo.

I suppose Parcells isn’t going to confirm/deny anything, though.

Although I think he should’ve picked better celebrities, they won’t be allowed to be on teh sidelines talking with our players. Ross agreed to stay out of the football aspect and he’s done & will [hopefully] remain doing so. I have a feeling Parcells will stay for one more draft, solidify himself as perhaps the greatest football mind of the past couple decades, and enjoy retirement.

The announcement of the members-only game-day club at Land Shark Stadium mentions special sideline access, the type of thing Parcells would seemingly abhor. Parcells is not talking about any of the new ventures, but he is a fierce protector of the sanctity of his team.

   However misguided it may seem, I think he’s attempting to create a perception in which the whole of South Florida owns the team. These celebrities may be out of the limelight for the most part but are still integral parts of the culture in South Florida.
   I don’t know. it doesn’t really bother me that these people are buying a very miniscule stake in the team and the mindset is, it will build interest that might not already exist.

Because if these folks are getting in the way of the Fins going back to the Super Bowl after all these years, then what South Florida fans can do is boycott the Dolphins, ticket sales wise, because if Parcells is pissed, then Ireland is also pissed and Sparano is also pissed…and I bet you so are most of the players. these players can smell Super Bowl and if Ross is screwing around with success….

I once wrote on Bleacher Report in a comment to a spoof article about Terrell Owens being signed by Fins that if TO really was signed by Fins, I’d quit rooting for the team until he left.
You can draw your own conclusions as to what I’d do if Ross screwed the team…Like I told Matty once, I worship Jesus, not the Dolphins!

Sure, J-Lo, Marc Anthony & Estefans are lame celebs. But like the article said, this could create opportunities for us to land bigger & better names and some big name free-agents. as long as Ross keeps writing the checks, and keeps his nose out of the football aspect, idc. Obviously I hate the new fight song, and seeing those has-beens will take some getting used to; but we are fans of the Dolphins FOOTBALL team. Not fans of the fans, or fans of the owners. There will be no distraction on Sparano’s team. They will be focused. They care about winning, not impressing some glorified conga line creator.

Anyway, just a bit of optimism amidst the gloom & doom.

why everyone is so angry about the minority owners! I mean, they won’t touch the football side of things, that “sideline club” will be FAR FAR away from the players sideline, plus IT’S DAMN HOT IN MIAMI they will spend exactly 5 MINS on the sideline before going back to the cushy private box. Also, it seems that no one is bringing up how these “celebrities” will help the community outreaches the Dolphins are involved in, I mean do you know what it would mean to an organization to say that Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony, and the Williams Sisters are going to be at a fundraiser or will be speakers at a dinner to raise awareness for any cause? So quit yer bitchin until something ACTUALLY HAPPENS that affects the team on the field.

I don’t have a problem with celeb ownership at all -as long as they stay off the sidelines. This isn’t something you let become a problem then deal with it. Young Pat White does not need to be looking (or even thinking) at J Lo’s ass. To say entertainers don’t relish attention is crazy. That’s a big part of being down on the sideline -and to think they don’t want the attention of the players is even crazier. I can see the Williams understanding this. But entertainers? Not a chance in Hades. They might be Dolphin fans but they’re bigger fans of themselves.

I pray somebody asks Sparano about it next press conf. I would but I don’t like to call him at home anymore -he needs his rest.

I think this is more of a marketing plan to get attention for people to come to the game. While you can complain about this the real problem is that people in south flordia are not buying tickets!!!!

While this ploy wouldn’t change our faith or interest it may get the common person to take intrest in the team or think of going to the game. I’m sure Bill gets that … Did anyone else see all the empty seats last season during home games?? If I’m not correct I think the only game that looked soldout was the 49ers game and IMO that is just terrible therefore leading to all of these minority owners coming in.
