Pat White and Chad Henne
Both QB's looked good in the preseason debut, and give me confidents that they will progress as they go through the season.
Chad Henne:
He throws balls on ropes to WR. He is mechanically sound and don't think there is a throw the guy can not make. He has poise back in the pocket, which he needs with the 2nd team OL in there. He made two beautiful throws that stick out to me, both in the Red Zone on the same drive that lead to FG. One was to Polite, outside shoulder into the flats, where the defender could not get it. Only for a few yards, but he took what he could get and that showed a lot. The second was the incomplete to Ricky on a swing out of the back field. Ricky was in the endzone, the ball dropped right over the finger tips of the defender but Ricky dropped it.
My only negative is he rushed his throw on his pick, threw to a horrible area, while under pressure and it ended up as a sack. But it preseason he will learn.
Pat White:
The kid has an arm as well! If you look at his number 2-7 INT you say thats not to great. But as I stated in another comment. He hit P. Turner, Armstrong and another WR right in the hands and they could not hold on. The one went off the WR hands for an INT. White is quick and agile, and can throw on the run.
What Pat White needs to work on is his back pedal from center as the announcers pointed out last night. He looks a little slow out of the gate. And he needs to realize he is fast, but so is the NFL, don't be afraid to go down or slide on occasions so you don't get banged up.
Thats what I got.

I am a big fan of Pat White
It is going to take him some time to learn how to play in the NFL (kind of like Steve McNair), especially under center. I wouldn’t be surprised in a couple of years if he is the franchise QB and Henne is either the 2nd QB or somewhere else. Like you stated above, White can make all the throws (hopefully accurately) and has the added dimension of being mobile. I just wish he was a little bigger.
We have ourselve TWO really good back-ups...

Henne VS White
I myself am not a huge Henne fan never was i was mad when they drafted him the guy was a joke in collage he choked under pressure in the big games 4 years he played he is 1 for 4 in bowl games and the one he did win wasnt really because of him it was the RB and D.
Pat white is another i am not fond of he is small and not as accurate as ppl think he is i wish we still had Beck he is by far a better QB then both of thease buys are in arm wise White is more mobile by far then any qb we have but if it was up to me i would keep CP10 as the starter for the next 3-5 years.
lol
he hates Henne and White… but wants Beck back? Did you watch Beck player? Ever?

so shaun...
you are saying that the J.Beck is better than both Henne and White?? Is that serious of a joke. I mean did you watch him at all during that ’07 year? There is a reason they picked up Leo Clemons (still funny) in Bmore and its not because Becky is injured, because they already have 4 QBs on the team. Henne and White are far better qbs than Beck ever will be end of story.

Bottom line i dont see us winning a championship with henne or white if we win its with a diffrent QB or CP10 Henne is a joke end of story ive been a phish fan for over 25 years and i watch more football then i should be but henne is not a winner he is far from it.
You don't see "us" winning a championship with Henne or White?
So which team will “us” been for the next 10-15 yrs? Cause this team will be winning one with Henne. Thanks for your 25 yrs of fan dedication.

That's okay. Take enough and it'll last forever.
Armchair QB's always complete the pass and armchair coaches always pick the right players.
Yes, Larry Little is still the man.
indeedy
plus, just to be able to get REAL lsd would have been bonkers.

Beck...
is not a NFL caliber QB, not a starter anyway and probably not even a backup. I’m glad the team got rid of him. He is a 3rd-string backup at the most.
Henne and White are the future of this team, have some confidence in this regime. They did make the biggest turnaround in NFL history last season.
pat white has some GREAT potential
BUT he is not even close to being starting caliber this year, though maybe by next year, when cp10’s contract expires, it could be a closer qb competition than most people think between white and henne.

henne showed some improvement
if you compare Henne to the AZ game last year… against Az he had happy feet in the pocket and he sailed most of his throws… while i don’t know if he was just more calm because it was preseason… that didn’t show last night (except maybe on the two picks … granted one was dropped) ….
now the one thing that didn’t change between the 2 games is he still locks in on his primary and doesn’t look off… that is something that is real easy for rookie QB’s to get into doing and it sometimes is the end of some very good talent…
guys like ed reed will kill you for it… so that does need to change….
but otherwise henne showed why the staff likes him so much… the talent gap between him and pennington is huge…
i was watching on tv some i can’t tell for sure but i think the penne 3rd down pass that was caugh~7 yards down field and the henne pass that was caught ~15-18 yards down field was the same play… it was just henne is able to get so much more velocity on the ball that they can extend the route downfield more…
Chad Pennington - The Lame Ducker aka the progress stopper.
So do you think the Jets intentionally did it to set the organization back 3 years or was it just an unintended side effect of their move.
Henne looked calm all night pretty much
I liked the way he bounced back from the INT. It didnt rattle him one bit, thats what you need when the game is on the line.

And standing in the pocket delivering that pass when he knew he was going to get smacked,
you can’t teach that.
